  3. I've been almost 2 weeks post op and had the same thing. I made a doctors appointment and sure enough it turned out not to be thrush. It's because your body is not used to the way you've been eating now. Don't pay to much attention to it, will go away in no time

  9. Jhood2005 welcome, At your first initial appointment with your surgeon you can expect to go over all the options of weight loss surgery and then they mite have you choose which option you would like to get or which one will work best for you and your body. In my case I had to fill out lost of paper work and about my medical history etc. They will weigh you and calculate your BMI to make sure you qualify for surgery, send you off to meet with the nutritionist and schedule your pre opt testing..... and before you know it you will schedule your date Hope this was helpful
  10. Hi There! Welcome, Wishing you lots of luck, Well as you mentioned each doctors requirements are different from one and another. My surgery is scheduled for this coming monday feb. 10th. so I've been on the pre opt diet for almost 2 weeks now and it aint that hard it gets easier as time goes on I'm allowed to have 2 Protein shakes a day and unlimed veggies with one meal and very lean protein .... immediately after surgery I will be on only Clear liquids for about a week and then move on for 2 weeks to pureed food and so on....... Good Luck

  12. For those of you wondering what the pre opt diet is for me its not as hard as I thought. I'm allowed to have 2 Protein shakes and one meal with very lean protein and unlimited vegetables all day. I found that making dinner your one meal has worked best for me. I had to drive to my pre op testing in a huge snow storm so if I can do that, I'm ready for my surgery!! Best of Luck

  20. Hi there!! I'm due to be banded on febuary 10th. so I've been looking around and trying various bands. but keep in mind what one person likes may not work for you. I just went out and got muscle milk ready made shakes and will be trying that one. also ensure makes one really high in Protein and low in sugar. Keep in mind each surgeon has different requirements that have to be meet. Good Luck
  21. Thanks, But does muscle milk taste good or is it very heavy. I'm looking for something that is light in texture
  22. Hi! I'm wondering if you can help me, I'm going to be starting the pre op diet for 2 weeks and was wondering why no one writes about ensure its high in Protein and I think low in sugar anyone who can help me out? kind of getting sick of the ones i have. Thanks
  23. My date is Feb 10th. I do recommend starting to get your stuff into your house now, and spend sometime separating your food and your liquids ( this was very difficult for me as it's only human to want to drink) waiting at least 30 mins before you drink. and to find which shakes out there you like, Also start some sort of exercise program so that it's not so difficult for you after surgery. Good Luck we are all there for you!!
  24. some say that it makes it easier for them to access the part around the stomach where the liver is and causes less complications after and during surgery. Hope this was helpful
