  1. Banded Oct 15, 2013 down 20 lbs in the Green Zone not hungry much. First fill was December 2nd. 5ccs in my size 11 band. I feel great! But not exercising like I should. Eliptical machine is on my Christmas list.
  2. Heating pad helped a lot. And walking. Hope you feel better. Congrats on your new band!
  3. Ok just got my first fill. 5cc in my size 11 band. Sitting here at the dr. office sipping my water. Dr. numbed the port area then filled me. Non pain just a little pinch. I am now on liquids for 24 hrs. Then mushies for a day then solids.
  4. Thanks for the heads up.
  5. I sure will keep u posted.
  6. I get my first fill in a few hours but why am I nervous? I guess I really don't know what to expect. Oh well.
  7. Thanks for sharing your story. I will be staying on top of this.
  8. I don't know what my levels are. Blood work is not back yet. All this just came about last week.
  9. Did u have Lap Band surgery?
  10. Wow that's great! Have you had a fill yet? How much did u loose prior to your fill?
  11. I am a month & 1/2 post op and just found out my freaking Thyroid is acting up. Had an ultrasound last week and I have a few goiters/noduals. Biopsy 12/5 & results on 12/13. Just wondering if your doctors checked for thyroid problems before surgery??? Well I am glad we found out about this problem early on. What could be more worse than having weight loss surgery and your thyroid gland is working against you?!?!? At least now I have a reason why I was having weight problems. Has anyone else had this problem?
  12. Ok I am 1 month post op and the only weight I've lost was during the week of surgery during the clear liquid phase. I did gain a few pounds after I started eating solids but I've lost those pounds already. Total loss almost 15 lbs since surgery. I know this is the healing phase but I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or should I already be loosing weight. Again I'm just curious not worrying. My first fill is December 2, 2013. BTW...I eat every 3-4 hours when I'm hungry. I eat about a cup of food at a time. I know I need to drink more water and eat more fruit. Have not exercised this week but have done a lot of walking in the mall while shopping. Lol
  13. That is great that the two of you had the same surgery. You too understand each other better than anyone else can. Awww that is soooo cute! I wish my husband could understand what I really go through. But oh well. Lol Good luck to both of you.
  14. Just checking on my fellow October Bandster to see how you all are feeling. Has anyone gotten their first fill yet? If so how did it go? What are you eating? Are you loosing any weight yet? Lol My surgery was October 15, 2013. As for me during the week of surgery I loss 17lbs and when I started eating food again I gained back 7lbs then loss almost 4lbs. So my total weight loss is 14 lbs. I started walking about 2 miles 2-3 days/week. My port area is still a little sore but I can sleep on my left side now & my stomach. I am eating regular foods like fish, shrimp, hamburger, and veggies. I need to eat more fruit and drink more Water. I usually stay full for 3-4 hours before getting hungry. I listen to my band and stop eating when it tells me too. lol Haven't had any issues. I get my first fill Dec 2. Oh...I've learned to stay my butt off the scale! I may not be loosing a lot of weight but I sure as hell am loosing inches!!! Wooo-Hooo!
  15. I've been eating eggs, almonds, and putting peanut butter and and 1/4 banana in my Cookies n Cream Gold Standard Whey Protein mixed with Unsweetened Vanilla Almond milk.
  16. I am at IHOP right now. I ordered an omlette off the kids menu. It has spinich, green peppers, onions, & mushrooms I chose fruit instead of pancakes. (I am 3 weeks post op first fill will be on 12/2/13.)
  17. What type of pain are you having? My pain was associated with gas pains killing my back and some discomfort in the port area.
  18. I took pain meds for over a week. Then I started talking half of the Loritab for pain. I never did take Tylenol.
  19. 2 weeks post op and finally feeling better. Port area is still sore as expected. Went to the park today and walked 1.8 miles. This week I can have fish & ground beef but no chicken yet. I will be focusing on my protein and veggies and fruit. Just ate almonds and they went down ok. Still get gassy from time to time but it passes very easily. So far the only thing I can't tolerate is any type of red drinks. No more fruit punch Crystal Light or red Powerade.
  20. My port and my bra are not getting along at all. 2 weeks post op and of course my port area is sore as expected. Heck my steri-strips just fell off a few days ago. Anyway...Finally got out today & went to the mall and had several "Ouch" moments. My port was killing me when I would bend a certain way or reach. Got home and figured out it was my bra causing the irritation. With the bra on it causes restriction so when I bend it would pull. But afer all those pains I felt i am now braless but still having pain. So back to the Loritab I go and Sports Bras from on until I heal. I know...tmi
