  1. I used cocoa butter cream but I had the surgical glue, not stitches or staples so my wounds were totally covered.
  2. I was approved based on BMI only, no co-morbities but I have blue cross and blue shield. Mis is right, each insurance company has different requirements. when yours is back up and running the best thing to do is call and find out what the requirements are. you don't want to bump up your BMI for nothing.
  3. It is a long needle. I always turn my head. Even though I can't feel it, I don't want to see it either.
  4. I am trying to do that now. Hopefully the scale will start to move again. I have 2.5cc's in a 10cc band. I don't feel hungry so I will see how it goes.
  5. I'm beginning to think I'm weird, I was banded 7/15 and have lost 21lbs. I had my first fill 8/29, lost 3lbs after that but have not lost anything since. I can eat my cup of food and not be hungry for 3 hours so I think I might be green or at least getting close. I see people on the fill board who have had 3 or 4 fills already but I don't think I need another one. Am I weird or should I just be enjoying this?
  6. I'm the same. A glass of wine and I'm done, and feel tipsy after that. No more hard liquor for me either.
  7. I was banded 7/15, so a little earlier than you. What issues are you having?
  8. I have 2.5 cc and feel pretty good. I think I'm in the green zone. I'm only eating about a cup of food at time and that is keeping me full until my next meal.
  9. Hmm, that's very interesting, but I have not noticed that. I just had my first fill last week. I'll pay closer attention next time I get lucky!!
  10. I was banded 7/15 and so far have no regrets. I think the only "surprise" I had was the fact that I was so hungry after surgery. This didn't kick in until about about 3 days post op. I was expecting to really not be hungry at all, boy was I wrong. I managed it with creamy soups and protein shakes but that was a rough week to get through. Other than that it has been much easier than I expected. Post op pain was not bad at all, and adjusting my eating has really not been that bad. Good luck on your journey and remember most times your fears are much worse than the reality.
  11. I got my first fill today too. I got 2.5cc. I don't hurt but I do feel a slight pressure in my chest. I guess it's the tightening of the band?? I was wondering that too.
  12. Yes, I finally got in an hour later. The fill took maybe 5 min. I got 2.5cc's. she put in 3cc's at first but then took .5 back out. Now I feel bloated like I have gas. Is that normal after a fill?
  13. This is my second attempt for my first fill. The first time the dr had me hold a crunch position and stck me 3 times but could not hit the right spot. Now I am in the hospital radiology dept waiting to get a flouriscopy for my fill and the nurse just tells me the dr won't be here for at least 45 min! Grrrrr! She suggested I reschedule but I'm not going to. I am going to sit here and wait I don't care how long it takes!
  14. My doc tried to do my first fill last week but couldn't find my port so I have to have flourosocopy. I have top wait until the 30th now. I'm ready for my first fill. I really feel I need it. My appetite has definitely increased but I am still able to stick to smaller portions.
  15. I'm having the same issues, I can barely get in 500 cals day.

Good idea, I have noticed more indigestion too. I wasn't having any a few days ago.

TOM is due in a few days and I have noticed I am much gassier than usual. Had this happened to anyone else? This is my first period since banding.
  18. Sex

I think we waited a week and a 1/2. I have surgical glue not staples so i didn't have to worry about that. Now it's fine, I have no pain at all.
  19. Tuna, chicken salad, I have also had wendy's chili in the blender. still tastes good. that also gives you protein.
  20. One thing to keep in mind too is with the band you don't try to get "full", you stop eating when you no longer feel hunger. It took me a minute to wrap my head around that.
  21. Yes, I had the same thing. The best you can do is walk. Some people said gas x worked but walking did it for me.
  22. How much are you eating in a sitting? I am trying to stay with about 3 to 6oz depending on what it is. I had a 1/2 wendys chili that I put in the blender and a 1/2 sour cream and chive potato for dinner and that was very filling. I didn't weight that but the calories weren't bad.
  23. Good report from the dr today, incisions look good. I have to go back in 2 weeks and might get my first fill then. The dr released me to go back to work on monday, I inform employee benefits that and they tell me they have to request records to see why I can't go back to work tomorrow!! WTH!! For the most part I am doing fine, but I am having pain at my port sight when I have to sit for extended periods of time. I have a desk job so I sit for 8 hours a day. I can't believe it, why would they question dr's orders??
  24. Yes, I was banded on the 15th as well, the band is wide open so you have no restriction right now.
  25. Yes, I had this problem also. Try creamier soups and tomato soup. They are a little thicker and will keep you full longer. Hang in there, the mushies are coming!
