  2. Well it's getting down to the wire. Today is the 3rd and I start on the 8th. Like I said before I need to get some liquids stocked up so I don't dehydrate. But I know my liver needs to have a rest and get smaller. I had a diagnoses when I had my gallbladder out that I had an enlarged liver. So I hopeful this preop will help alleviate that and also some weight. What I am having a hard time on is getting chewable, crushable, or dissolving tabs for my meds that I take now. My psychiatric drug are covered. My Aricept is covered. But my migraine and muscle relaxant isn't covered as far as I know now. I'm still working on it. So hopefully before the 23rd I''ll have everything straightened out.

you all have a good day. Donna

  3. Hi all

I can see we've had no returnees. I found out from my support meeting what plication and the nurse said they my doctor doesn't do it but I wouldn't need it anyway.

preop coming up in six days. Just got my disability check so can go to grocery store to stock up on liquids. I have a good deal of determination. I start preop on 6th and dh is cutting back too when I go on preopl. We'll C

I hope each of you wherever your at in your banding that positive thoughts and positive results are happening for you. Keep smiling donna.

  4. I see that all of you has wished they would have done it sooner. I do too, however, for me, I just found out about this not too long ago. I am at a point that I think physically, mentally and emotionally I can handle it. I've had a lot of mental problems along with being over weight along with many chronic conditions and diseases so I've got most of them under control and feel confident about myself. This adventure, this part of my life, I believe will only enhance the good feelings I have of myself today. So I hope this all finds you in the same frame of mind. I don't thik I'll like the preop diet but it is the beginning of the journey that will jumpstart the rest of my life. So I will look at it as a positive step towards the future. I'll be able to handle it and plan on handling all of it and sticking to the program as best as I can. I know all you will too. You sound determined and ready to begin this new chapter in this book of life. Kudos to you all. Donna

  5. PatientWaiting, I didn't look at what day your surgery was for. But keep the faith, Kudos to you. The commitment is made now all you have to do is stick to the plan and away you go. I'm proud of you. As far as my pills are concerned I'm trying to get each doctor to either give it to me in liquid form, crushing it (some you can't crush) or dissolving on the tongue or under the tongue. I'll be doing that during the period of preop. I am bring all my med just in case I might have to stay overnight. Have yourself a wonderful day albeit hurting. I pray it's not too bad and you recovering nicely. Later, Donna

  6. Hi my name is Donna. I just got my date for surgery for Aug 23 a month from today. I do have concerns, but then I am a worrier. I am not worried about the surgery itself. I am worried whether or not if I cough too hard it'll fall off or have a hard stool push. dumb things like that. I know I can do this. I am grateful and thankful to my Lord and savior who lead me to this place and to my insurance company who is paying for this. I won't botch it up. I have soooooo many chronic conditions that the doctor was seriously considering not doing it since I take 33 pills a day for various reasons. But not to worry I am all set. I live near Tampa Florida and will be having surgery in Tampa. Dr. Grossbard was in one of the books about LapBand surgery and I feel confident that he knows what he is doing. As far as my pills go I believe in the beginning I'll be able to get off about 10 of them right away. I wish I had this 10 years ago, now I am 63. Better late than never. Here's to all who have self discovery through lapband surgery. Good luck to all. Donna
