Approved & Surgery Date Set!!

Patiently Awaiting

Hello my bandster's. I am sooo excited. I was approved after 27 longggg days by my insurance (Cigna). My surgery date is 7/31! I have been on my pre op diet for about a week now and it was very hard the first 2 days OMG  . But so far I have lost 6 pounds. my surgeon requires a 10 pound lose before surgery.

So lately I have been getting everything together I may need after the surgery. Has anyone recently had there surgery or is schedule soon to be banded? Please share your stories or anything that may help me after the surgery. Thank You

Hi my name is Donna. I just got my date for surgery for Aug 23 a month from today. I do have concerns, but then I am a worrier. I am not worried about the surgery itself. I am worried whether or not if I cough too hard it'll fall off or have a hard stool push. dumb things like that. I know I can do this. I am grateful and thankful to my Lord and savior who lead me to this place and to my insurance company who is paying for this. I won't botch it up. I have soooooo many chronic conditions that the doctor was seriously considering not doing it since I take 33 pills a day for various reasons. But not to worry I am all set. I live near Tampa Florida and will be having surgery in Tampa. Dr. Grossbard was in one of the books about LapBand surgery and I feel confident that he knows what he is doing. As far as my pills go I believe in the beginning I'll be able to get off about 10 of them right away. I wish I had this 10 years ago, now I am 63. Better late than never. Here's to all who have self discovery through lapband surgery. Good luck to all. Donna

Hi Donna, so sorry late response. I have been getting everything ready for my surgery tomorrow!! I am so anxious! Yes you will be fine, as long as you have God on your side. they devil wants you to find any reason to not go along with getting this procedure. but once your start dropping pounds you will prob be off those meds or majority of them. you can always crush them and up them in something and eat them. are the pills a large size?

PatientWaiting, I didn't look at what day your surgery was for. But keep the faith, Kudos to you. The commitment is made now all you have to do is stick to the plan and away you go. I'm proud of you. As far as my pills are concerned I'm trying to get each doctor to either give it to me in liquid form, crushing it (some you can't crush) or dissolving on the tongue or under the tongue. I'll be doing that during the period of preop. I am bring all my med just in case I might have to stay overnight. Have yourself a wonderful day albeit hurting. I pray it's not too bad and you recovering nicely. Later, Donna
