Yes, I was at a family dinner and mentioned how my health isn't as good as it should be and it isn't easy to lose weight now a days...when my father in law pipped in for all to hear "Come with me and work in my attic and I will get that weight off you! Really?

Second, use this time to teach your grandson about not judging others based on their appearances. Find something as a teaching tool Ie: Superman never tells people they are fat he is there to help others in fact "Superheros" don't insult each other.

My heart goes to you, It is really a game the insurnace companies play and they have no heart connection to you as a human being they are only concerned with the dollars. I too am being put through the insurance game they play but mine want 5y documentation.. Really? Please be encouraged and try Weight Watchers on line while you are out of town, the steps you take documenting now will help you in the long run. Sending prayer your way and a big hug too!

ChinaMama, Thank you I will contact wlsappeal and see what my options are. This is crazy, before I started my journey I spoke to the insurance company and asked what they required and they didnt list a 5 yr diary and to top it off this 5 yr diary is not listed on the insurance website for requirments!! Thank you so much for responding!!

Fred, Thank you.. I will call tomorrow and speak with the insurance and see exactly what they are requiring from me as far as wheat I have done to keep the weight off. I have BCBS Anthem insurance.

I saw a documentary on this and the amount of soy needed to raise estrogen is super high. I would like to add that there are alot of foods with extra additives of soy, especially in Protien shakes, tuna, coffee creamers to add a few. Most people think soy is healthy so add more of it, not always true. A few years ago I felt like the walking dead, come to find out I was allergic to soy!! Then for the first time in my life put on Thryoid Rx, and bio-identicals to help balance the damage done by soy additives. * Check out Stop the Thyroid madness do some research for your self and have your hormone leves and thyroid rechecked. Most times a simple CBC blood test will not show how low you are on your thyroid. So an Endocrinologist can do more test and help you get your enegy levels back to normal.

Flattered...anyone who is insulted is taking themselves a bit too seriously. My best advice is for every ounce of extra attention you get...give 2 ounces worth to your wife to keep her from worrying about it all. Butterbean- you know the right way to treat your wife!! I have to say having worked in the medical profession and many years in a Hospital most people are not rude, they are in the healthcare profession to help others. But there are some people who are hard and calous and they do get away with murder with their words that cut like a two edge sword.

My doctor says he will do both surgeries at the same procedure.

I just called my surgeon office to find out what is going on with my approval it has been 14 days so I wanted to know. To which I found out that insurance hasnt declined my surgery they just want a diet journal of the last 5 years of my diet since I had the lapband. How do I do that? Most of the time I was compliant then when I had complications from my lapband I could barely keep food in. If I eat Protein, chicken, hamburger, steak, turkey what ever I would never know if this is the meal that would make me throw up. Some times it would be 5 minutes after eatting other times it could be up to 20 minutes after eatting. So did I keep a journal, no.. Now what do I do? The cordinator is telling me I had no idea your insurance would ask for this. And my response is Cant my Dr do a peer to peer with the insurance on my behalf? So now i wait, broken hearted. If anyone has come accross this problem with insurance can you please tell me what to do? I want to call my insurance and say are you kidding me? Really, I had a faulty lapband I was lucky if I could keep my food down. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Heartbroken.

You go Gurl!! Now every negeative thing these family memeber have said should be the one thing that keeps you going towards your goal. There is a saying to keep your friends close and your enemies closer but when it is family there is just no escaping. Keep each one of the negative words as a stepping stone to reach your new goal. You deserve to look and feel your best, do not allow the abuse of words from negative people hinder you any more! As i have gotten older I have learned a valuable lesson, there are alot of cheerleaders in this world, start removing the negative people in your life and surround yourself with people who are positive and make you feel good about your self and your life goal!!
