  1. Has anyone every heard of that? My band is in place but somehow the tubing goes up above the band and down. My surgeon said it wasn't placed that way. So when I eat it makes the tubing press against my diaphram and gives me referred pain in my lower left back. CRAZY! So I'm wondering if I should have it out. My surgeon just wants to do a revision because he doesn't like lap bands because of all the maintenance. Rebecca
  2. I'm happy too! Must be all that beautiful sunshine after those terrible storms!
  3. Congratulations! You look amazing! What did you do for exercise daily?
  4. So glad you were able to get some relief. Now let's hope you get total relief with your back. You can make it until June. My doctor said I could take Advil from time to time but not on a regular basis. I sure will be cautious about taking it at all now.
  5. Benefiber in my diet juice is great. Dissolves, no taste, & no thickness from it. Or Fiber Well chews.
  6. So Very sorry for your loss. WOW! Look how far you have come. Great Job! You really have gone done in sizes. Especially with all the stress you have been under. Keep up the good work.
  7. Me too Cheryl. I have to have it quiet so I can concentrate on taking small bites and chewing really well. If not I will have issues. I thought I was the only one. RebeccaStarr
  8. So sorry to hear all that you are going through Donna. Ditto to what everyone else has said. I pray that you get the pain under control. Do what you have to do. Health and happiness first and foremost. Good luck with everything. Keep in touch.
  9. That is AWESOME! What a transformation! Great Job.
  10. Don't be scared. You will do fine. Every day gets better and better. By the fourth day you will feel more like yourself. Just follow your doctors orders and you will do fine. It will be the best thing you ever did for yourself. Once the weight starts coming off and you start getting more energy, you will know you made the right decision. I have never looked back. I was banded June 24th, 2013 and have lost 43 lbs. so far. Down two pant sizes. It is only a tool. You still have to do the work of eating healthy and exercising. Good luck! RebeccaStarr
  11. You go Carolina Girl!Tell them to go poop in a hat!
  12. After the first 4 days are over you will be well on your way. Everything will be fine. No need to be scare. Just following the doctors instructions on the different phases for the food. You will be fine and look back on all of this and be so glad you made the right decision for a healthier you!
  13. See, we told you it won't be bad at all. Glad it is over for you and that you are not in much pain. Each day gets better and better. You are on your way to a healthier you! YEY!!!!!
  14. Good luck! It will be over quickly and there really isn't any pain. Some have gas pains and that is it. Mine was gas that settled in my shoulder. That is normal. The first 4 days are the roughest. After that you are on your way. Good Luck!
  15. I was banded June 24th and the doctor saw me 2 weeks later and he released me to swim. I had my incisions gluded shut. If you have stitches or bandages that may be another story.
  16. I had the same thing happen with chicken. I ask my doctor if it did any damage and he said no. Did you get the bad pains in your chest also? That is what was the worst. After throwing up the pain was instantly gone. Thank goodness. So don't worry it didn't do any damage. Take small bites and chew chew chew!
  17. The gas is the worst thing. Try the heating pad for your shoulder it does help. The other just takes time to work its way out. I have 5 incisions. On day 5 you will start turning the corner and will be able to crawl in your bed on your side and sleep. It is wonderful. Right now you are having to sleep sitting up in a recliner right? Hang in there! Every day gets better and better. The very center of my back hurt. Why I don't know. Maybe it was trapped gas. It will all be worth it. Trust me! You do wonder what did I do to myself. I'm telling you on day 5 the worst will be over. Take little sips. My chest hurt alot. Not sure what that was all about but it was very uncomfortable. I think my band was spasming when I would drink something really cold. Try warm tea for it to calm down. That too went away after day 5. Hang in there! RebeccaStarr
  18. The gas is the worst. My gas was trapped in my left shoulder. Is that where yours is? I put a heating pad on my shoulder which helped. For the other gas, you just have to walk it off. Some people take Beano. Hope is goes away. Congrats on taking the steps to become more healthy. RebeccaStarr
  19. I am one week out today and have had the same problem. If it is real cold liquids I think the band spasms kinda. We are to sip the drinks not gulp. Had to break bad habits. I tried slowing down to sips and it seems to be much better.
