  1. Sounds like "sliming". From what I've read on here from ppl reporting similar things it is food or liquid backing back up your esophagus. This happens from eating/drinking too fast or possibly getting something stuck. Your body makes this slimy mucus to try and move the stuff thru the stoma. Might be worth calling your doc it you are concerned/if it continues even if your eating and drinking is at a glacial pace. Hope u feel better soon!

thanks :) i have my first appointment tomorrow so i will definatly talk to him about it

  2. I am in North Richland Hills as well. I was baned on April 25th and have lost 48 pounds so far. If you guys get a group together I would love to work out with y'all right now I walk around the track at Richland High School.

Oh wow thats awesome!!!! When do you walk? I wouldn't mind having someone to walk with. I need to start walking more!

  3. Hello all! Today I would like to share a triumph! I was able to get to my local gym and do the elliptical trainer for 35 minutes, burning over 600 calories. I could feel my endorphins rising, and my heart rate going up...all that good stuff.

Now, that being said, I'm NOT a fitness guru. Faaaaaaar from it. I hate exercise. It's a chore, but I'm doing my absolute best to readjust my attitude and embrace this new lifestyle. That said, I'm very unfamiliar with what can happen with your body after you become active after periods (long, in this case) of inactivity.

About five minutes after I stopped my workout and got to the car, I immediately felt the need to cough up some congestion in my chest. I was able to get some up, but I definitely feel like a lot of gross stuff (sorry if this is too graphic) was loosened after this workout. It makes sense? Right?

That's Awesome!!!!! and ya it makes sense that your body wants to get rid of the yuck stuff :) keep up the great work :)

  4. Hi Sara, Check with your docs office to see if there are any support groups in your area....if not, ours meets at 6:00 PM every Tuesday and is open to anyone that has had lap band surgery. We meet at Fort Worth Lap Band - 2501 Parkview Ave. Fort Worth, TX. Good Luck!

Hi! thanks ill look into it:)

  5. Hi I'm Sara. I'm 23. Was banded on the 16th of July. It would be nice to have someone to talk to, hang out with and walk with around me. My family is being really good about being supportive its just weird talking to them about it cause I have to break everything down so that they understand. Well if anyone is interested let me know:)

  6. Hi there yes it's normal as you have just been banded your band has not been tightened yet.

Do you know when your first tightening date is yet or your next visit. That is usually when your Dr may do the first tightening. For now your band has to heal into place. Then you will start being very careful remember to chew chew chew lol. Take care.

My first visit is the 29th. And thank you makes a lot of sense:) got scared something might be wrong
