There is an excellent surgeon in Lyon, France who has done literally thousands of MID band lap band ops:- Vincent Frering M.D. Centre de Consultations Spécialisées de la Sauvegarde 25, Av des Sources 69009 LYON FRANCE Tel : +33(0)437 497 010 Fax +33(0)437 497 013 www.gastricbandservice.co.uk/vf.php Fills are offered by the Gastric Band Service he is connected with in the UK and the price is just over 6000 euros for the op. However, he doesnt offer the easyband at this time, as he feels it could not be adjusted quickly in the event of an emergency (if the patient was overseas).

:help: I'm from the UK and can't decide whether to go for the safer tried and tested lapband (MIDband) to be fitted by Dr Frering in Lyons or whether to take a chance and have the easyband fitted by Dr Favretti in Manchester (closer to home, easier for fills but twice the price but riskier as it depends on the availability of Dr Ashton in the event of an emergency). Any help or suggestions from experienced bandsters would be appreciated.
