    what do i do?

Because when you were first banded your stomach was still swollen from surgery. It is normal to be more hungry as swelling goes down. You will feel more restriction once you begin to get fills.

    3 days post op

I had to drink 2oz every hour to keep from starving the first week. Some people are hungry the day after surgery. Good Luck
  4. I didnt see the part where you asked everyone opinions about whether what you ate was healthy for you... must have missed that. Anyways, I would not eat the chips and goldfish - not for caloric reasons BUT because you need to stick to your pre-op diet unless you doc says otherwise. Save yourself the pain it causes (I cheated and paid the price) it is honestly not worth it. I know you will have cravings and head hunger but you have to be strong right now. I dont think you have done any damage YET. Dont worry this time passes by quicker than you think. Hope everything goes well for you!
  5. I swear by IsoPure - also sold at GNC. Not the chocolate kind but the clear protein
  6. I had a 2 week liquid only diet - no veggies, no solids of any kind. After day 3 it wasn't so bad for me.
  7. So sick, and in pain :( Not gonna be a good weekend

  8. What do you mean by having a terrible time with my shakes? Are you having trouble getting them down? Is it the taste? Post-op for me I had to be on Clear Liquids for 10 days because my body wouldn't tolerate Protein shakes. I was cleared for full liquids day 2 but my body said otherwise. Each time I tried a chocolate shake or tomato Soup I experienced a lot of pain.

    1400 Calorie a day

Hey everyone. I wanted to know what is everyone's daily caloric intake. 4 weeks ago my PA put me on a 1,000 calorie diet. And lets say I didnt do great on it towards the end once my appetite came back. Then when I saw my surgeon two weeks later he put me on a 1400-1500 calorie diet because he said my metabolism rate is higher and I needed to consume more calories and "kick" my body out of starvation mode. So on here I've seen people who eat around 900 cal - 1200 cal. And some who don't count calories at all. Now I don't know how I will consume this much once I've gotten a fill but I guess my body will adjust. I just wanted to see if anyone is eating this many calories AFTER being banded. (Having your metabolism rate check is awesome btw, if you haven't had it done its pretty cool. I found out my body burns 2,174 calories resting, which as explained to me means my body would burn 2,174 calories if I never got of out bed. The you add calories for daily activity level and exercise. My metabolism is very high they said, which is a surprise to me! I always thought my metabolism was awful.)
  10. Went to Carowinds today and fit in all the rollercoasters! (something I couldnt do last year) Some I chose not to ride for fear of damaging my port. But a good day all in all.

    Almost embarrassing....

To be honest Chloe you are in high school. Dont let this time dictate how the rest of your life will be. More than likely you will go on to college where no one knows you and be able to make a new impression! There is nothing to be ashamed of, but you don't have to let others know about your band. If people notice anything just tell them you are on a diet and trying to lose weight. I was in high school not long ago, things change so much in just a short time. Think about how thin you will be going into college
  12. Are you afraid of eating in front of people?

    first fill

Hey girl, Sorry about the needles. That sucks. Hopefully you can get someone more "experienced" next time
  14. If you are staying full then no you do not HAVE to get a fill. I am hungry often and can EASILY get to 1400 calories so a fill would help me. 5 pounds a week is awesome and if you dont think you need a fill I would tell them so. You can always go back if you change your mind. I can also feel my port ever since the swelling from surgery went down. Its to the right of my port incision.

    Omg we are bandzillas

Have you tried Clear Protein? I was on clear liquids for 10 days post op
  16. In the very beginning 1-3 weeks post op, I regretted everything. That was because of the pain I experienced afterward during those 2 weeks. Not the bands fault by my own body not being able to tolerate the surgery drugs/procedure well. Now that my body has gone through this ridiculously long healing phase and no longer in pain I am glad I did it. Hasnt been hard yet. But Im still just beginning
  17. I was 265 at my highest preop and I am down to 230 now 7 weeks later

Doing my homework and getting serious

Dont forget much of the data you find includes those from older and outdated bands. The newer upgraded bands have far less complications then the generation before it.
