Pygo got a reaction from LessLee in June 2013 Bandsters - How are you doing?
Banded 5th June and 50lbs down. BOOM.
Hard work but MFP and not lying to myself and cardio is doing the trick
:-)

Pygo got a reaction from sthenny in Never got stuck
End of the day it's the BEST thing I've ever done. So far I have gone from this first pic to the second one with no stresses.

Pygo reacted to DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! in My story--banded for 9.5 years.
Your story is a great example of why the old 4cc band (and other old models) are no longer used in the United States. It makes me incredibly sad that so many people run off to Mexico to save a few bucks, end up with the 4cc band, and have the exact same issues you're having.
Thankfully, problems such as yours are rare with the new generation of bigger bands when the patient is compliant with the rules and their surgeon.
Good luck with your Sleeve revision.

Pygo reacted to juliecatherine in Delicious Breakfast
I love eggs benedict and I wanted to create a lower calorie version. I started with a base of two Tomato slices. I removed the peels because I heard they can cause problems for some people. To that I added 2oz of shaved, smoked ham that I pan-seared in a dry skillet until it was slightly caramelized. On top... a perfectly poached egg, and my own Mock Hollandaise Sauce. The sauce is just a tablespoon of light mayo, not quite a teaspoon of Dijon mustard, a teaspoon of lemon juice, and some salt and pepper. I sprinkled some Smoked Paprika on top. I just love it when the yolk is perfectly runny. But not too runny. This is definitely a weekend Breakfast, because it took some time and created a LOT of dishes to wash, but it was dee-licious.

Have any other successful banders ever done this??

Pygo got a reaction from Jim1967 in Complete Lap Band Failure & Then Success
I lost 90lbs on Atkins but it's not sustainable. It's a loophole where the body goes through a chemical reaction that eats fat stores. It turns your body into an acidic state which leads to all sorts of problems. I agree it's good for fast weight loss and occasionally good for the body but its not sustainable at all. There are too many temptations in our world even when you are in the OWL stage to keep carbs so low. I used to be all for it.
I AM NOW A FIRM BELIEVER IN MORE CALORIES BURNED THAN CONSUMED IS THE RIGHT WAY. PLATEAUS ARE A GOOD THING AS I BELIEVE WHEN THE WEIGHT EVENTUALLY COMES OFF ITS A LOT HARDER TO PUT BACK ON.

so you failed and not the band? Isn't there a forum for promoting Adkins or whatever? If you could do it on Adkins but failed with the band then it's probably you not the band... interesting no information about yourself ... your experience as you call it is not something we haven't all tried before.. been there done that.. check back with us when you can say Adkins failed you.

Pygo reacted to LessLee in June 2013 Bandsters - How are you doing?
Hi Gary! Glad you are doing well. There is Fluid in my band too, but I forgot to ask how much post-op. I should be able to have my first fill on Aug 7th. I was debating on whether I needed it or not, but I am "dieting" at this point. I am counting calories so I don't gain. I am satisfied on my portion, but do find I get hungry faster and I am going to bed hungry. Congrats on all your victories!
Wow Sunshine, that's great! I also started up exercise again. Just walks at the moment, but I need to add strength, specially for arms. Good luck with your fill!
Hi Gavin, wow that's about 42 pounds right? Sorry I had to do a conversion from stones to pounds. That's great! I haven't had a sip of alcohol yet. I am a little afraid to. I bet I am a real lightweight now.

Pygo got a reaction from LessLee in June 2013 Bandsters - How are you doing?
I was banded June 5th. My biggest hurdle is Water retention after binge drinking which I tend to do once a week/fortnight. I drink vodka and low cal orange. Sometimes from 1/2 to a full bottle. Apart from that, 3 stones down in total. 800-1200 cal net with training 4 times a week.
Much love
Gavin

More people are successful than not!
You are implying that it doesn't work at all.
Maybe you should stop being negative and positive things will happen.
Read the SECRET, it may help kick start things for you.
All the best!!!!

Pygo got a reaction from labwalker in Not losing
Make sure you are being totally true to yourself when logging calories. It's easy to downplay what you've had to eat and drink and think you've only had 800 when in reality it could be nearly double. I always log slightly more calories than I actually eat so it works purely to my benefit. If you are eating only 800 and still not losing, well id maybe pick up your activity and start cycling your calories.
