  1. Congrats on 6lbs!! That's awesome! For your boat license too. Fun! My husband told me he may be away at the cottage when I get back. My mother can stay with me if I think I need someone. I appreciate all of your input. Thank you.
  2. Hi, also self pay in Ontario Canada. I feel the same as Tiny. I could get more info if I asked the clinic, they have been very good at getting back to me on my questions, but I wont really get the post op plan until I get there. I know the liquid and mush phases, but no material yet beyond that. This forum is great! I can't even access the clinics forums until I am banded.
  3. I am glad to hear it all went smoothly! I hope you have a quick recovery. I'll be joining you in 3 days.
  4. That's ok! You need to focus on you right now. I am ok. A bit of nerves and excitement. I have gone through the "what am I doing" thoughts much more this week! Friday's the day.
  5. Thanks for your words of encouragement! It really helps. After I was freaked out a bit, I read a really inspiring post. I may need to be more careful what I read before I leave. After all is said and done, I just want to feel like a normal person! lol I was worried about never eating a salad again, also going to a restaurant with people who do not know...can they tell by the way I am eating. Silly things. My mind is acting up now that it is 3 days away! I am keeping really busy this week, so it helps. I have cleaned the entire house, I work too, and made a big pot of Soup and chili to blend and freeze. I think I am pretty prepared. All I have left to do is the bed sheets and pack! I have done all the shopping and stocked up for each phase. I live in the country so if I need something, it's not a quick trip to the store. Thursday night is going to be the worst. Being in a hotel room I never sleep well, and surgery bright and early the next day. I am going to see if I am allowed to take a sleep aide. So, how are you doing this week?
  6. Good luck! I am having the "are you crazy" thoughts more now that my date is this week! Also glad I found this place.
  7. Wow, congrats! Very inspiring. You look so good!
  8. Hi, I am doing ok. A little more anxious now that it is so close. Second thoughts, then excited all in the same hour..lol Feeling a little weak, but I have been cleaning, cooking and organizing like mad so I will have nothing to stress me out. I just read a thread about what people can't eat since banding. Kinda scared me that there may be something I can never enjoy again. How are you?
  9. Congrats! I go in Friday. As far as suggestions, I have found some on here and other places so I have stocked up! These are what I have prepared. Meds- gas-x, chewable/liquid tylenol and an anti nausea med (chewable or liquid), pill crusher if needed, something for constipation (MiraLax if I can find it here) or Laxaday if needed. - liquid or chewable multi Vitamin and Calcium. - lots of Water, herbal tea, diet juice, sf popsicles, broths, protien water, Jello - ice chips - Unflavoured/tasteless Protein powder - heating pad - pillow to hold on your stomach - a cane or something to lean on if you need it to help you get up or sit down (great tip). Someone posted a great list here - http://www.lapbandta...ds#entry2004836 I also have a couple books to read. Good luck!
  10. Not yet, but I am planing on it once it's in!
  11. No advice as I am scheduled for the 21st, day after you. But I'd be interested in hearing what others say. Good luck!
  12. Good luck! I am on Friday, I have to take Thursday off to travel. If I didn't have to travel I would probably take at least 1/2 day off before. I wouldn't be able to concentrate on work anyway!
  13. Yes, it is a great resource! I just got a call from the Nurse and they finally got my ECG back so my surgery date is set for sure on the 21st of June..yikes!
  14. Good for you! Your story touched me. You CAN do it!
  15. Hi! How are you doing so far?

  18. Hi, I am scheduled for Friday the 21st. They need my ECG results back though. I am travelling there from Ottawa.
  19. How are you today? I was at an all day workshop and there were lots of goodies, but I am happy to say I stuck to my pre-op.
