Fill #3 has put me in the green zone! I have 5cc's in my 10cc band and it did the trick! I'm staying full for a minimum of 4 hours, able to tolerate solids very well and the pounds are melting faster than ever now. I've lost 4lbs in just 3 days (without exercise) and I am so thrilled!!!! I hope you all experience the same results, it is an unbelievable feeling!!!

GinaT228 got a reaction from Heccat2 in Lap band removal?
Well peeps, I'm sooooooo very optimistic at this point! I went last Thursday and saw my pcp. He does not think my body is rejecting the port. He's seen it many times before. He says he could be wrong but truly doesn't believe that to be the case. What he feels is happening is a super sensitive nerve stimulation. Similar to diabetic neuropathy but not quite the same. He says that the scar was almost keloid in nature. He prescribed a lidoderm patch and said that by the end of this week it should almost be cleared up. It may never fully be pain free (it's sore and I sometimes have severe sharp electrical type pains with just the very slightest touch) but that this should pretty much take care of it. If not, then I will have to have an ultrasound to make sure there's no puss pocket under the port then he would go in and inject a steroid around the port but not in it to see if that would help. If that fails then he would agree with my surgeon and the rejection diagnosis. Well I'm here to tell ya, the patch is doin the trick! It has NEVER looked better! Yaaaaaay meeeeeeeeeee!

Oh gosh! I'm so sorry to hear about all of the complications! I can somewhat related. I developed a blood clot after knee surgery a few years ago. But definitely not to the extent you are experiencing. I'm wishing you an uncomplicated and speedy recovery. Stay strong. You got this! :-)

GinaT228 reacted to Cocoabean in describe: STUCK EPISODE
For me, I get a distant look in my eyes (hubby ID'd this) with a slight pain in my chest, then I get the feeling of a rock in my sternum, then the slime starts. If I stop eating with the slight pain, I can be OK. If I keep eating until the slime starts...there is no going back. Slime means what went down must come up. If I swallow a couple ounces of Water, that will often trigger it to immediately come back up without wretching.
If you are in a public toilet, put a toilet seat cover in the water, this helps with backsplash when the stuck item hits the bowl. Yes, I've had the splash hit me in the eye. Also watch out for self-flush toilets. My hubby once asked why I'd washed my entire face, including my bangs and removing my make-up.

Wow that's a horrible, terrifying experience. I'm so very sorry.
One thing I do think is important to point out- your near death experience had nothing to with the Lap Band. It was caused by your surgeon's repeated errors, starting with cutting your liver during surgery and missing the warning signs after.
    Best wishes

GinaT228 got a reaction from Countryheart2000 in discomfort from Port to pouch
Well here it is several days later and the redness is gone. I called the doc that day and they called an antibiotic in and I see my docs partner tomorrow for a follow up. But Friday night I had potato Soup and a few small bites of a roll. Woke up Saturday with pressure and pain in my mid breastbone area. Not sharp burning pain just a dull ache. Pressure. As if that damn roll that I should not have had is STUCK! I drank Water, hot tea, coffee, hot water with lemon, pineapple juice and even butter. You name it, I've tried it. I have not slimed. Had the urge ever to throw up. Never been nauseated nor pb'd. Just pressure. So I have to go in tomorrow and possibly have an unfill. Dammit! I honestly cannot believe I did this to myself. I really thought I was following the band rules. But I suppose I was a bit overzealous with the bread. I am hoping that this will right the wrong I inflicted upon myself and that I have not done serious damage. I have already buried the mental bread. Now to hopefully get rid of the physical bread! And can I just say, I ABSOLUTELY love this forum! I spend quite a bit of time on here reading. I hardly ever post or respond because I'm too busy reading! But such a plethora of information!

So many post with newbies and wannabe's stressing out about if their pre authorization with their insurance will be approved. Ecstatic when approved! Cannot possibly make it through the liquid diet, or possibility of post op pain. Do it any way, then break every rule laid out for success with the band. Really?
Is it because you do not value the wonderful gift of having partial payment from the insurance company, therefore, the band does not hold the same value as it would if you paid 15 thousand out of pocket? Or, do you not value yourself?
Some of the behavior exhibited, makes a mockery of the hard fought battles of folks struggling to loose by following the rules, and when they are successful, the same people who break every rule, wonder why the band isn't working for them, how they are not one of the "lucky" ones.
It's all about you. Decide before you put yourself through all of the above, that you are going to do this, not cheat yourself, and not cheat some of the amazing people on here, who don't know you, and are reaching out to help you be successful.
Sorry for the rant, but it's so upsetting when people break the band rules.

GinaT228 got a reaction from Draven in Ashamed :-(
Okaaaaaay peeps, I am so ashamed and disappointed in myself. I have been over eating for two days. I really didn't think it possible. I realize it's been Soup, but still! And tonight I had a low fat, low sodium Tomato Soup. BUT, I added a couple of chunks of velveeta. I honestly thought I'd be physically sick. Throwing up or nauseated. But nooooooo. Ugh! I will not set myself up for failure! I let my emotions take control and lead me the wrong way and now I am truly concerned about how easy it was but also concerned of the serious repercussions to follow. Hopefully none as I am only one week and a day post op. Holy cow! I am so pissed at myself!

Don't be so hard on yourself. This is a work in progress. It wasn't as bad as you think and you just have to force yourself to get right back on the wagon. You can do it. I'm sure there will be other bumps along the way, you just have to stop them and get back. Remember we weren't at this point because we could control ourselves with food.< /p>

Be glad you didn't throw up because vomiting is very dangerous with the band and being so soon after surgery you'd risk ripping the stitches in your stomach.
Stick to your post op diet. It's for healing not losing and it's crucial you give your stomach time to recover.
Considering it was Soup I'm sure you're fine, just get back on board and stick to your doctor's rules going forward.
    Best wishes

The gurgling you are experiencing is totally normal. You will hear all sorts of noises from your tummy as you heal and after eating & drinking. If it becomes painful, you should contact your doctor but it sounds normal to me.

Less than 1 cup of food, 3 times a day. Good food I mean, because you can get really high-calorie foods with no nutritious value in 3 cups if food

I will definitely try the Smooth Move tea although I'm having regular bm's. Thank goodness! The pain for me is right in the center of my chest. I drank tea last night and slept on my left side but turned quite often. I realize it's the co2 but I'm just wondering if beano will help. That's charcoal based rather than simethicone. I'm also in a bit of a predicament because I did NOT tell ANYONE at my work that I had this procedure done. My boss does not believe in it and thinks it's a copout. I have 3 days left and I am hoping and praying that this improves. I recall gas from my gallbladder but nothing to this extent. And another thing, I don't know how to post comments on my own. I'm having to go behind y'all's comments.
