  1. The only thing I remember from when my gallbladder was inflammed was pain and nausea. I had mine out three months after my lap band was placed. I'd been having attacks for years prior, but waited on surgery. Turns out it was porcelainized which is precancerous, so I'm grateful it's gone. My surgeon did it robotically and it was easier than weight loss surgery. No pain at all afterward. Recovery was a breeze for me. It was nice being able to eat without having abdominal pain again.
  2. Oh yeah I've heard those groups on Facebook are a lot different than this site. I enjoy this site overall. I hope you do as well. Best wishes on your journey! ?
  3. Hello and welcome to the group! ?
  4. This is the one I'm going to go with post op. It has a lot of good reviews on Amazon. The label says 15 mg of sodium. The premade bottle of apple melon flavor says 25 mg of sodium. Did you go with the premade bottles of Isopure? Cause someone in the review said the powder tastes better than the premade bottles. I guess you could dilute it with a little more water, maybe that would help? The only other one I've seen that I might try is these... https://store.bariatricpal.com/products/bariatricpal-15g-whey-protein-collagen-shots-apple?variant=41022463181
  5. Well that's a far different perspective than either of my surgeons have used. They would never have recommended a protein shake that has more carbs than protein. The HMR 800 shakes have 20 grams of carbs and only 17 grams of protein and 18 grams of sugar. If you're going to do that, why not just have 4 ozs of lean meat and 2 cups of non starchy veggies for one of those meals. I don't get that at all. Now I'm curious if you will get HUNGRY, lol.
  6. I'm SO happy that you get it too! And thank you!
  7. Which ones have you tried? The only one I ever tried was the Premier Protein Clear Peach, and I don't recall it tasting salty.
  8. It depends on lab work. The tests can tell the surgeon/dietician how well your body is absorbing the protein. Some people for various medical reasons don't absorb protein well. It can also depend on which weight loss surgery you choose. The malabsorbtive type surgeries can cause you to not absorb protein/vitamins as well as before surgery. That's part of the reason follow up labwork is so vital to your success. So sometimes your protein/vitamins have to be tweaked.
  9. A couple of weeks, lol. Mine says to avoid it for three months. Ridiculous, lol.
  10. At least your program doesn't forbid coffee/caffeine. My program says no caffeine, but that's getting ridiculous imo. There's no way I'm cutting out coffee, unless it doesn't sit well after surgery.
  11. Congrats! I know you can not wait to start that 2 week all protein shake diet!
  12. Yeah, too much protein can cause kidney issues.
  13. Well my point was, she tried to get it here in the states, but they told her she'd have to go through therapy. She didn't want to face or work on her issues that led her to an eating disorder, so she found out that she could go to Mexico and get the surgery and they wouldn't ask about her mental health history. Here in the states, they at least make an attempt to screen for things like this.
  14. Reversal is important to me but for a different reason. If I get very sick with my autoimmune disease again (which is what caused me to need wls ~ 7 years of daily steroid use) I may need it reversed because I will have to go back on daily steroids again. We don't think that's going to happen, but it's there if it's necessary.
  15. Whoa, I missed a lot I see. Take the flirting to PM, boys. ? Jk, lol.
