  2. You all are doing so well. I have been stalled for several weeks. Decide to get back to the site and you have all really inspired me to work harder at my goal!!
  3. I am so sorry to hear of your sincere stress...I can really feel into it!! But I tell myself all the time ...the sooner I just accept what I need to do to lose the weight and stay healthy the better off I will be, mentally and physically. I know it sounds maybe a little tough thinking, but it what I tell my self!! I like to eat Nonfat Cottage cheese...1/2 cup @ 80 Cal and 16 grams of Protein!!!! I usually eat 1 cup ....so I get in 32 grams of Protein!! And, nonfat Greek lite yogurt, strawberry or blueberry flavors @ 90 Cal and 16 grams of protein!! Hope it gets better for you!
  4. Itsme, I really cant wait until you do go shopping and feel the feeling of buying something that you really like and it really looks great on you! Keep up the good work, we are all proud of you!!
  5. Sleeved May 17, -35 lbs!!
  6. You look fabulous! I know exactly what you mean about holding on to certain outfits...I can wait to try on some I wore in 1999!!
  7. Hi Everyone, I thought I would send you an update..I am now 8 weeks post op. My weight has been slowly but steadily coming off. I am down 32 lbs. I am still learning how much to eat and how to really chew my food. I still have some bad habits of eating too fast and eating without thinking...If I am not careful how I eat and how much. My stomach will hurt if I over do!! I am jogging 2 miles a day. I worked up to it over the last 7 weeks. My daughter and I started walking almost immediately after we got home. Not sure if it's advisable but it was ok for us. I worked up to walking 4 miles first then I started to jog...I don't want to spend and hour and half walking every day!! so I started jogging to save on time. It takes me about 1/2 hour to jog the full 2 miles. I hope to work up to 3-4 miles in about 45 min. I am still getting used to the idea that I actually did this surgery!! My daughter can easily be one of you who loves their sleeve, has high energy and is completely elated almost all the time. I on the other hand don't have half her energy and I spend to much time thinking of things that could go wrong, especially when I eat to much and hurt and get gas etc!! I am glad that I had sleeve done, but I am not ecstatic or riding high, yet!!! I was able to find a Bariatric Doctor in my area to do my follow up care. Which was a big relief for me. Looking back, I am still very satisfied and very happy with my decision to use Dr. Garcia and his team at florence Hospital. Just yesterday I sent an email to Dr. Garcia with a question and it was answered within a short time later. I also want to thank each one of you out there that graciously contribute to this site. I have learned so much from you and feel that we are like a family here on the VST! Warmest Regards, Maybaby

  13. I am for real, please read "My Mexico Story" I simply gave back to the boards by writing a long through story about my experience because the VST was incredibly helpful and HELPED before I had my sleeve done on May 17th 2013!!
  14. Prayers for you! And a fast recovery too!
  15. Yes, Dr. Luna really is good at what he does, very loving and caring. I found Dr. Garcia the best choice as a surgeon as well!! What a great team!
  16. You will be please with Dr Garcia and His team, they are great!! You are getting closer!
  17. I am so please with Dr. Garcia and his Team! I am 13 post op.
  18. I am now 13 days postop and still eating the sugar free jello and pudding, broth, protein and small amount yogurt!
  19. sounds like you are doing great keep up the good work, and remember it will never come back again!!!
  20. Before I left him I asked him if he was on the this Vertical Sleeve board, he said no, I asked him to check it out because I would like to stay in touch. I have not heard from him or seen him yet!
  21. You will be so well taken care of...between the Doc's and nurses etc coming and going you wont be alone and lonesome. If you need anything you have a call button and the nurses come right away to see what you want or need. Its easy to have quick chats in the hallway with fellow sleever's and become friends. My daughter talked to a couple ladies that came down together but they had separate rooms, she encouraged them on their first day. Later she got their names and email address and is in contact with them. Feel free to ask your coordinator or Dr. Luna to see if there is someone new like you that has come in...be assertive and introduce yourself to others, they will be glad you did! You may not have a lot of time to meet to many because you will be tired after your walk and want to take naps.... No worries, you will be fine!
  22. Hi Everyone, Thank you for all the comments. I was hoping to take some of the fear away for choosing to go to Mexico for surgery. I did want to make a change on the year from 1940 to 1960's I am not sure how to edit. ....for those who met Peter, we got to ride back to the hotel with them...he was doing great! They both were happy and so relieved! I too miss Dr. Luna, we called him our "Rock Star" because he is so naturally skinny!! Dr. Garcia is the perfect Doctor that I would want to do my surgery, he is the quiet studious/perfectionists type! Dr. Garcia and his entire team are the very best choice for Mexico Surgery!!
