70lbs down, 100 more to go...

    Wow!!! You look fantastic!
  2. I am 11 weeks post op and have lost 35 lbs and 11 inches off my waist! This was the best decision I've ever made. I was told I wasn't big enough to have the surgery. Now I look back at the pics and I was huge! Other great things happening- I got engaged June 13th and the wedding is in 2 weeks. I can't wait to walk down the aisle 35lbs thinner! These before pics were taken a week before surgery. I still have 30 lbs to go.
  3. I went through care credit. They have interest free options.

    Flying????

I flew the day after surgery and right after fills. I drank and ate before flight, but only drank during flights because my doctor did say the band tightens due to the pressure in the air. I never felt any pain or pressure

New to forum, having surgery doubts

I am 5'3 and was 198 when I went into surgery. I am now 174 7 weeks later. This was the best decision I ever made. I have been struggling with this extra 75 lbs for the past 5 years. The surgeon walked in at my consult and told me I was too thin for surgery. Then he looked at my weight and BMI and said it was my decision. Two days before surgery I had to go to a cardiologist as my EKG was said to be abnormal (it was fine after all). The nurse told me I was crazy to get Lap band. I panicked with second thoughts for the first time. It hit me, "Am I really doing this?" Then the cardiologist came in and shook my hand and said he was proud of me for doing something to get healthier. He said my amount of weight will affect my heart eventually and he was proud of me for doing something that would extend my life. He congratulated me on my decision and I was so pumped as I left that I high fived him! This is such a personal decision and you really can't let outside influences affect your decision. You have to do what's right for you! Good luck!

    Calories in-calories out=?

I am 6 wks post op today and have stayed the same for the last 2 weeks. I got a fill yesterday and on liquids for 2 days. I increased my cardio 3 days ago. Hoping between the liquids and cardio things will get moving again.

    First fill for April banders?

I was banded on April 25th and got first fill yesterday. I thought it was a little painful! Actually, it was the shot to numb it that hurt. My port is close to the surface, but I bruised also and I am sore today. All In all, not that big of a deal and now I know what to expect. I'm on liquids for 2 days. I haven't felt any different since getting it. Maybe I will tomorrow when I go back on solids..? I go back in 4 weeks.

    Spread out meals

I was instructed to only eat a 1/4 a cup of liquid at a time. I am still supposed to stick with 1/4 cup for mushies and no more than 1/2 cup per meal once I start solids.
  13. I am almost 3 weeks post-op and I can finally say that I feel 100% again. I really saw a difference at the 2 week mark. I was banded on a Thurs and back to work Monday.. however I was SO TIRED! I took a lot of lunch-time naps and left early for the first few days back. I finally have my energy back. I know it's not fun while you're in it, but you will get through it and it's great on the other side!
