  1. Probably February for me as well. ????
  2. Hi All, I'm done with all the hoop jumping except for two more weigh-ins, my question is do we have any input as far as our surgery date goes or does the insurance company kind of say screw you! and this is your Date! Just asking because it would be nice to coordinate a date that works well for me and my family. Thanks in advance.
  3. TMI Alert!!!! Not being able to wash my butt crack in the shower without doing some serious yoga and kung fu like manuevers!
  4. There are protein powders made with stevia which is all natural but is an acquired taste. I think jay Robb is the name of one company.
  5. This is my second go round at this, I was talked out of/chickened out last year. Full steam ahead this year with surgery sometime in February maybe. Good luck.
  6. Yes I switched because I went with a different surgeon the second time around. I had to start from scratch but its well worth it and the new hospital I chose is a Center for Bariatric excellence so the process this time around is alot smoother.
  7. I understand what your going through, last year my wife and friends convinced me not to go through with the surgery. It felt like I was on that show Intervention only no flight to a lovely fat camp in Malibu. Lol. So I did what i've been doing all my life and tried this year to do it on my own with the same results. Finally my PCP and my Cardiologist convinced the Mrs. so as of know she's on board, but I decided besides our parents I'm not telling anyone about the procedure until after it's done. Last year there were too many Chiefs and not enough Indians. Goodluck.
  8. Hang in there my surgery is in late October and I'm with you, my nerves are shot and I am very nervous. I even started researching other surgeons, I bet all these feelings are normal. Good luck it's gonna be okay.
  9. Anyone switch their Surgeon pre-surgery? Why and was it difficult to do?
  10. Slimfast works and its pretty tasty or you can try a good quality whey protien as meal replacement, but this advice is coming from the person who is going to get yelled at by his cardiologist tomorrow for gaining weight and developing GERD. Lol.
  11. Don't do it, my close friend did it and his butt became real friendly with the toilet seat if you catch my drift, he did lose around 7.5 lbs in 48 hours.
  12. Lol yes he is! Thank God cause im not too swift.
  13. DL thanks for the shoulder to lean on your 100%correct I am definitely gonna try to focus on the positive I guess I can get ulcers even with out the surgery, so full steam ahead!
  14. As always i'm very greatful for the sound advice. Started to feel a bit nervous but that's normal im told. My one concern is how my meds are going to effect my pouch especially the plavix and aspirin I have to take i am deathly afraid of complications like ulcers and such Dl or Missy any opinions on this. Thanks.
  15. Thanks Dawn I'm not going to depend on dumping as a crutch I have done my research and to talked to many pre and post op patients and I am trying to modify my eating habits before surgery and it has not been easy but I'm trying. Thanks again.
  16. I've been using body fortress chocolate 60g of protien per serving it's not bad. Any recommendations? I hear tastes change after surgery so i'm going to ask my Nut. if she has any sample packs.
