    New band; diet concerns

I think terry was meaning nothing will help you if you are eating stupid... Not that you are stupid. I think it's a common misconception that everyone come out of surgery and is suddenly not hungry. Me= not hungry my friend=hungry... Our bodies are all so different and will act different. Don't go testing foods "because I can" or your likely to end up back in the same boat. Until you get a fill you need to work hard at eating things the doctor suggested. I'm only speaking from my own experience. Btw my friend and I had same doc only a month apart and we are same starting weight and currently same weight (she's a bit lighter) she really struggled with being hungry all the time. I didn't struggle until I ended up having my gallbladder out :/ I hope you find the strength to make this work for you... It's not easy but I have faith in you... (We all have trouble with our fat ppl brains XP )
  2. Yeah I realized after the appointment she was nowhere near my port lol way to low!! Mine sits just shy of my ribs (which I hate when I lay on it). Yes I realize my goal is mighty darn aggressive and I'd be happy just to get out of my stall. I say I need simply because to me growing up I was always taught that you get the things you need but you don't always get what ya want. I set that goal simply because my one year anniversary is coming up with my man and I'd like to take pictures with him but I want to be in "one"derland. If I'm not I won't take pictures. I will continue to work until I hit that goal. This has been my goal for the past several months but I lost time when I was without a fill for awhile (dang you gallbladder) lol ( btw I totally get what you meant about want and need... It's just how I was raised lol) I should also mention my normal nurse gets me in and filled in under 10 minutes... This dr took a hour to even come into the room to see me!! Yikes. I wish this wasn't such a long journey, I wish I could click my heels and be fit and healthy. Hey a girl can dream!! Lol

How did you get beyond a plateau?

I too am stuck in the 40 pound rut... Well 44 to be exact. I just started adding cardio and I'm hoping to get a fill. I have a thread under the fills that tells ya why I am "hoping" for a fill. Lol good luck everyone!

    help?!

Yes I have been having regular bowel movements, doctors are still running test. I should be going back for an upper GI this hour to see if my band has slipped possibly and then they are going to check labs and do a ultrasound of the gallbladder. Honestly have no idea whats going on. My stomach is still sore but not clenching like it was last night. Nausea is coming and going. They are giving me zofran and morphine. Although I have not taken morphine since I first came in. This discomfort is nothing compared to last night. I'm also clearly dehydrated. Dark urine, nearly 1000cc of fluid in via iv and I've only gone to the bathroom once, not to mention my veins were crap. Ugh I need to be better now! I can't afford this hospital bill and I have work Tomarrow. :/

    help?!

Has anyone experienced sharp coming and going pain a hour or more after eating that last 15 minutes to few hours? I've been admitted to the hospital after having my band drained of 4.5 CCS of fluid and the pain still there. Doctor thought I was having a stuck episode but felt like nothing I have ever felt before (yes I've had 2 stuck episodes and know them well I believe) I've had this same thing happen 3 times in the last Twp weeks. First two times were 15 minutesish and this one well its been 4.5 hours and thankfully the morphine and zofran have taken the pain away. Any ideas?? I truly don't know what's going on. I'm scheduled for an upper GI Tomarrow. They took blood and oh on a another note my main surgeon is in Maui luck guy. Any ideas would be great. Thanks bandsters!

    Second fill today!

Just got done about a half hour ago with my second fill. I have lost 27 pounds in 6 weeks. I am very proud of that number but I'm eager to get to 30 pounds lost lol. Still have a long way to go but at least I'm getting closer. My first fill was painful but this time I didn't even feel it! It was great. I'm up to 4cc. Nurse was not sure why Dr didn't give me the full 3 last time so she was a bit hesitant to give me more than two. Its okay with me tho because I know its working. Yay! Starting my 5k training this week for a family 5k in October. Also hoping to tighten and tone my body as well as drop more weight. 27 pounds lost and 11 inches lost. Yay!
