I had a principal whose wife was overweight, she lost weight and started looking hot and so she was attracting attention from other men, I think in a marriage if there is no support from your spouse, those other men seem to give you something you havent had in a long time....someone looking at you with desire...

Lori Jo got a reaction from this sucks in pre op "cheat" ?
I understand your point, but for those of us in our pre-op phase we cheat a little as that is what we have done all our lives, i know that when i can only swallow a few tbsp of food and get sick will the cheating subside, you come across harsh and you dont know this person, i have been beaten up all my life over my weight and we come here for support not bashing. Give them a break, we are all only human.

I was surprised by the pain in the incision area, notably where the port is located. I didn't anticipate that. Stay ahead of it with whatever pain medicine they recommend. They gave me demerol in the hospital, I'm using regular liquid Tylenol at home. Really helps. And rest, walk, rest, walk, rest, walk. Really helps. Good luck!

I can honesty say the only pain I had was in my left shoulder... from the gas they use... it lasted for 3 days.
    No other pain at all.
I used "Magic Bags" you put in the microwave... or you can use a heating pad. They REALLY helped along with walking.

Lori Jo reacted to Tabithan in I have failed my band - SUPPORT GROUP
Occassionally, I run across a few posts from people like me who have failed their bands. But these posts are usually just a venting opportunity. I have failed my band - I acknowledge it - and it would be great if we could have a group of other "failures" who want to work together to become success stories.
    MY STORY
I was banded in March of 2007. At the time I was 299 lbs. I am a 6ft tall lady. Today, I weigh 255, and basically just as big as I was when I got my band. I have got numerous fills and I usually eat through my fiils. I can eat whatever I want. I overeat and I am confident that I have caused my stomach to expand. I snack on candy, I eat the wrong foods - I eat until I am STUFFED. Sometimes when I overeat, I feel sick and gag to relieve the pressure.
I moved to Houston 4 months ago, and last week, I went in for a port-readjustment with Dr Alanis. It went well and I now have a new resolve to make it work. My doctor mentioned to me that about 40% of all bandsters fail. I do not want to be a failure. I have paid too much money to go through this.
    MY GOAL FOR DECEMBER

To write everything I eat down, including calories
    To stay within 1500 Calories.
What's your story? What's your goal? How can I support you? How can we support each other?
Misery loves company, and company can help us move from failure to success. Please join me by telling me your story, and your GOAL for December. Let's vent - but more importantly, let's talk about strategies to make this work - let's share and support each other - Let's turn this from failure to success.

I think you're so right about some people getting drunk on the attention. It's like a hunger; a feeding of a part that was starving & had never been filled.
When I lost close to 100 pounds several years ago, I dated like CRAZY. I was in my early 40s, but never came into my own until then. After time it got really old, and then I met my wonderful husband; supportive, kind, caring, strong character.....a man who loves "me", in spite of the weight I've gained over the 8 years we've been together. I'm one who can honestly say that my marriage won't end because of WLS. When you find your prince (or princess), the attention of others is only in your peripheral vision.
