  1. Congratulations and welcome to banderland!!!! Keep healing and taking it easy.
  2. It is The Lap-Band Solution by Dr. Paul O'Brien. Compliments of True Results where I had my surgery.
  3. I'm just wondering if you were given a fill.
  4. Me too. I'm back down today. Tomorrow I may be up again by 3-5. It's weird and I know I don't eat very much. But that's the new normal. Don't worry.
  5. Yes, my surgeon and team advised me as well but I'm hard headed. I eat what I want when I want but in moderation. For the most part I do follow the rules otherwise I wouldn't be below goal and maintaining. I don't eat bread on a regular and when I do, I only eat half a piece or one slice if I'm in the mood for a sandwich which is always half of half. In regards to steak, I eat it only as fajitas. That's the only way my body will tolerate it. I'm sure I could probably eat a steak but I'm scared to try and I'm three years post op.
  6. I'm so sorry to hear that. I lost my father right before Thanksgiving three years ago just before my surgery so I totally understand what you're going through. It is hard but you can do it. Forget those previous days and just start over. Do a day or two of liquids, then mushies, etc. Remember why you had your body cut on in the first place. You can do it. Hugs to you.
  7. It's been a while since I shared my nsvs (last year). Reading what many of you are now able to accomplish is amazing. I'm so happy for all of you. My latest nsv was shopping just before the new year to buy some tops for work. I was in a large which were gimungus on me. So naturally I went straight for a medium. My mind kept telling me ya better try it on before you buy it. I'm so glad I did because low and behold the medium was too big also. Guys, I purchased a small in tops. They were on sale half of what they actually cost so I bought several of them in different colors. I of course cried like a baby in the dressing room because I don't recall wearing a small um ever!!!! Well maybe when I was little but again, I don't remember.
  8. Wow!!! That's a lot. Impressive.
  9. Yes, I remember being scared but just followed my doctor's orders. If I forgot, I had my lapband book to guide me.
  10. Yes, it is an eye opener. I didn't realize just how much we overeat until taking this journey. I can't help but look at what others eat and I just want to say, "Oooo, you're going to eat all that?" But I don't. I just do what I'm supposed to do. I no longer count calories or measure my food. After a while, you pretty much know how much you can and cannot eat.
  11. Glad you were able to get a revision. Good luck in starting over.
  12. Thank God there's no cancer!!!! Sending hugs and blessings your way. Just try and stay focused on why you decided to have wls in the first place. Here's to you continuously being healthy. Best wishes.
  13. My SO has loved me no matter how big or small I've been. I have to admit our relationship is so much better after having wls. It has even allowed him to watch what he eats as well, so I'm in it to win it!!!
  14. The point is to reach your goal no matter how long it takes. I was a slow loser as well. I became frustrated too but I didn't give up. Now I'm living life below goal and just maintaining. I thought it was going to be hard but it isn't. You will get there. Continued success.
  15. That I only need food to sustain my body and that I don't need it for anything else. I no longer overindulge in food and when I think I'm hungry, I drink water and occupy myself to see if it's head hunger or not. It's taught me to put myself first above everything else and to take my time when eating.
  16. Wonderful! Happy banderversary.
  17. Wow!! That is strange. I haven't heard of this but hopefully someone will chime in. I'm just glad to know you were finally checked out. Personally, I would get a second opinion. Good luck.
  18. Aww to the silver measuring set. Congratulations!!!! I look forward to following your progress.
  19. Impressive!!! I'm glad to know the band works longer than a couple years. Congratulations!!!!
  20. Awesome!!! You may want to blend your fruits. That's what I do. Congratulations!!!
  21. I usually snack on a cheese stick, chips sometimes until dinner is ready. Most of the time I just wait because I really want what I'm going to cook. 1/2 a cup of yogurt is great also.
  22. Awesome!!!
