  1. Yes, I had my surgery with True Results Houston. The doctor repaired the hernia and then placed the band. I have Aetna so they of course covered the surgery part but not the band. I'm still paying on that LOL but it's worth it. I'm three and a half years post op. Good luck to you.
  2. Sorry it didn't work out for you longer. Your over health is the main issue. I do hope you can maintain keeping your weight at a level you feel comfort with. Best wishes to you.
  3. Kudos!!! Continued success.
  4. Congratulations on being banded. Welcome to our world. Lol
  5. Cute. Happy independence day.
  6. Congratulations!!!!
  7. Many of us struggled with this. In time, you will see what others see. I didn't realize what everyone kept shoo shooing behind my back until two years post op. I took a picture and that's when I noticed how much smaller I looked. My neck was so scrawny looking lol. Looking at myself in the mirror I didn't see. It was the photo that did it. Don't be down on yourself. You're beautiful sweetie. Congratulations on 50 lbs down.
  8. Kudos!!!! Keep up the great work.
  9. 71 lbs down after three months??? Amazing!!! congratulations and continued success.
  10. Good for you!!! Keep up the great work. Congratulations!!
  11. That is wonderful news!!!! Congratulations to you and enjoy your vacation.
  12. Awesome accomplishment!!! Thank you for putting it all together. It has been and continues to be a great help on this journey.
  13. Remember that exercise and logging your calories are a major part of this journey. If you can only walk, then walk but you can't expect to keep losing if you're not moving. I too had to limit my carbs for the first year post op. It was the hardest thing to do. Some months I did great and other months I didn't. But after time, I reached my goal. I had several stalls or plateaus along the way. It's part of the process. Keep following your doctor's orders and you will be successful. Good luck everyone.
  14. Congratulations!!!!
  15. Awesome!!!! Congratulations!!!
  16. Awesome!! Congratulations on being banded.
  17. Decisions, decisions. I too chose the band because it's reversible and I didn't want my insides cut on. At the time of my surgery I only knew of the band and gastric bypass. The sleeve is an option I recently learned of. Had I known about it three years ago, I still would have chosen the band. I love the decision that I made for me and ultimately, you're going to have to do the same. Good luck.
  18. Sorry, no problem for me too. Good luck.
  19. You will if you just keep following doctor's orders. Good luck and continued success.
  20. That's what I love about floro. It shows what is going on. Glad it didn't flip and u would have a revision surgery. Good luck on your journey.
  21. Hugs to you. Just take things very slowly and one day at a time. Rest as much as you can but try and walk as well. It helps to eleviate the gas pain. Congratulations on being banded.
  22. I'm an educator so I had my surgery done the Friday before Christmas break. I used one of my sick days for that day so that I could have the whole two and a half weeks to recover. It was perfect because I was well enough to go back to work.
  23. I would call your practitioner. You should be able to drink tea, coffee, water, and broth with no problem.
