  1. I love Trader Joe's. Their Organic soups are to die for. The ones in a carton. The chicken broth, tomato soup, and vegetable broth is so yummy. I use the chicken broth over broccoli and it is so goooooooooood...
  2. Someone on here just got back from having surgery with Cardenas. I can't remember who it was. Look for the thread "I am having my eyes and ears done" Or something like that. There are some on here that have had Sanchez do their surgery. I think Vera is one of them. Send her a PM and she will fill you in. Good luck and keep us posted BRAVE woman.
  3. Awww Christina: I am sorry you were denied. OK enough niceties. Let's get the ramming pole and storm the castle. You go left I go right. No wait I go right you go left. No wait OH damn it I broke a nail. OK Who brought the super glue? OH yeah we are storming the castle to save the,..hmm,..I forgot why we are storming the castle. Damn the old age. I am here for you Christina. It too pisses me off and I feel your frustration.
  4. Good luck and come back quick to give us an update. We miss you when you are gone. Lots of white light sent your way along with the prayers. OK Here is my special way I will be praying for you on Friday. I have some help.
  5. OH NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! We're doomed. LOL!!
  6. JENNIFER: HOORAY!!!! She's gonna be banded. You're gonna love it. (OK say that with the best impression of Sandra Bullock in Miss Congeniality) LOL!! I am almost a year out and it has so changed my life. I have loads more energy. I try things I normally wouldn't do. I just did the 5K marathon here in Los Angeles last weekend. I would NOT have done that a year ago. I might have watched it from home on the TV but certainly not participated. I did not run it mind you but walked it. Out of 4000 I was ranked 1929. WHOO HOO!!! You are doing the best thing for you. OK SO, tell us about your self. Age, weight, height, how much you wanna lose. You know all the good stuff. LOL!! Inquiring minds and all that stuff.
  7. I got rid of all my small size clothes along time ago. I did give a pair of size 13 jeans to my daughter I used to wear in High School since she can wear them. She still has them and says she gets compliments on them all the time. I think I will ask for them back at some point just to see if I can get into them. I had a size 29 waist them. SIGH!! Those were the days.
  8. YEAH!! She is back and banded. HOORAY!! Ok so fill us in. Of course when you feel up to it. How about now? No? OK NOW? OK OK!!
  9. Kim: I also went through a community college where the GPA was 3.5 or greater to be accepted. I had an hour commute each way. The computer class will be beneficial in the long run and will put you one step ahead of the other school that didn't require it. Also, I think I heard that there is a nursing shortage right now and most likely you will get accepted into both programs. RN courses are hard enough without putting this added pressure onto yourself. Step back and look at which one is the better for you and your whole family. It sounds like the closer one is the better bet. But here are some questions to ask that might help you make up your mind. Do you know the reputation of the nursing school? Are they both accredited schools? How is the hospital where you will be doing clinicals, what is their reputation? Which school seems more willing to work with you? Is the dean of nursing approachable at one school over the other? Talk to some of the current nursing students and get their perspective on the two schools. GOOD LUCK!! I remember the days of RN school and all those clinicals. SIGH!! Those were the days. LOL!!
  10. You are most welcome. And are you kidding??? Look at your face and your whole body. There is a definite difference.
  11. Kirsten I do a Protein drink in the am. I drink 8oz and it stays with me till around lunch time. Lunch: Tuna with spicy mustard instead of mayo and a slice of american cheese Dinner: Most likely chicken breast no skin either barbequed or baked with broccoli or some other nice green veggie with some steamed carrots. Snack: Most likely nuts or a fruit Try to steer clear of any Desserts. I just don't know when to stop. LOL!!
  12. Hey wendy CONGRATS. You and Jamie and Corgi are all getting banded the same day. WHOO HOO!!
  13. THREE more days. OR is it two. It is friday the 18th right? This ROSE is from my garden last year. BEAUTIFUL!! Can't you smell it?
  14. Jenna: The smoking issue is coming along nicely. You are cutting down which in my mind is easier on the system than cold turkey. I did it cold turkey and it was such a shock to my system. IT still hates me hence the weight gain. LOL! Doggie stuffs: My heart absolutely bleeds for you and what Jeter is going through. Keeping you and the family in my prayers.

Congratulations on being banded. Welcome to bandland. I was banded by Lopez as well. I had a redness around the port site that was the size of a grapefruit about two weeks out but I realized I was sensitive to the glue they use to close the incision sites. I used hydrocortisone cream to calm it down and it eventually went away. If it persists or starts blistering then you should contact Lopez. Do you have aftercare set up? That was one of my complaints about Lopez that his aftercare sucked. But I hear he has improved it now so maybe it is ok. When in doubt what it might be always call your doc.
  16. Hey Crystal??????????? How are you doing? Come and fill us in when you get a chance and feel up to it. Sending lots of white light.
  17. Supper night before last was Outback steakhouse with chicken breast and broccoli. Supper last night was left over from lunch: Deli turkey slices from my favorite New York style Deli in Northridge called "Brent's". Cup of split pea soup with roast meat. Supper tonight ??????

That is wonderful. I am so happy for you and your niece. Make sure you get some before pics and your measurements. I did that and it has really pulled me out of a slump when I didn't "SEE" any changes. I compared my measurements and was shocked to see how much inches I have lost. Good luck and welcome aboard.
  19. Awww darnit it and I wanted to join that challenge. JUST KIDDING Michelle. I think the humor was lost somewhere. LOL!!! Let's get back to it. Come on everyone LAUGH a really big LAUGH with me OK. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!
  20. Rhonda, several of us here have been banded by Dr. Lopez. Some have had good experiences and others like myself and Lisa have had not so good experiences. In the end it all worked out but just make sure you have a band surgeon that will do your aftercare that is close to home. Good luck and best wishes for an uneventful recovery period.
  21. Venti Cafe Mocha -- Addicted I tell you. Hey have any of you tried STarbuck's new Liquor? I have some and it is divine. Over rocks and with a little milk it is to die for. YUM YUM!!!
  22. What what?? Did I miss something while I was out walking? Aww Zoe, I hate seeing you go on steroids but if the back issue will be helped by them then I guess you gotta. Steroids bad food bad the Two together EVIL!!!!
