  1. Awesome. This is hopefully me one day. Never wore a 2 peice in my life. Lol great job
  2. I think your used to buying bigger clothes. So when you try on a smaller size in your mind it should not fit, but it does. I think this is one of the mind tricks are head plays on us. Because sometimes we cant see our weight coming off, but our clothes are smaller and the scale is moving. Sometimes it takes our heads time to catch up. As far as buying clothes there are thrift stores you can go to to get a few outfits from. I wouldnt buy too much as your body is continuing to lose weight.
  3. Im 6 weeks out and never regreted my desicion. I love my band.
  4. Great NSV many more to come.
  5. Good luck on your journey. This site has helped many including me. I log on everyday. I feel like this is my site and "my people" because we all went through the same thing
  6. I think i lasted about 5 days lol, but it all depends on how you feel. My fiance was not worried at all. I did hold my tummy though, thinking about it now i dont no why. But i was fine 8)
  7. That is a great amount of weight loss. I am 6 weeks out as well and lost 14 pounds so far but am very pleased with that. All together since starting my jouney ive lost a total of 45 pounds. Its nice to see my pants getting bigger and waist.smaller. I also love to hear the experiences of others, i look at what they do right, so i no it can happen, and what they did wrong so i no not to do it. Working with your band is the best thing to do.
  8. Yes they are diffrent. Its ok i guess it could be worse.
  9. Okay i got my first fill a whooping 4cc. Protein shakes for 2 days then yogurt cottage cheese and oatmeal the next 2 days then on day 5 go back to a regular diet.
  10. Here i am waiting to see if i will recieve my first fill today. Total loss 45 pounds since january (when i started my 6 month required diet) since being banded i lost 14 pounds.
  11. Glad i found this. Was banded at Magee by Dr Courcoulas on June 18th. Go for my first fill on Tuesday (6) week check up. Im loving my band.
  12. Hello Dr Courcoulas was my surgeon, was banded june 18th. She is a great surgeon. Have my first fill coming up on tuesday.
  13. This sorta happened to me at work the other day. I was eating chicken and ate too fast (very busy night) and felt this pain almost like something got stuck but it was like heartburn or indigestion i tried hacking (burping) it back up but it was just clear mucous i now no that even when its very busy at work i must take my time. It was a very uncomfortable feeling
  14. I have a 22oz container that i fill 3x a day. After Breakfast i will drink Water or mio i try to finish the whole thing before lunch. Then eat lunch, then after another container before dinner. After dinner i usually start craving a sweet snack and i will sometimes eat a popsicle slushie , then finish a third container, usually the water keeps me full in between meals. I wait until my stomach growls to eat now . If its not growling and i "think" im hungry i usually drink water and that does the trick
  15. Agree with mis73 i would make an appt with a nutritionist and tell them exactly what is going on. Maybe write down what you eat for a couple days and take it with you to your appt. My NUT told me that is what she is there for to help us out when needed.
  16. I also work in a hospital and work 12 hour shifts, be careful not to lift anything over 10 pounds, when i returned to work i almost forgot not to lift. I did not tell my manager about my surgery because i had about 16 days of vacation afterwards it was nice to be off to heal. But when i was at work and needed to move a bed or pick up a patient , or move them around i had to stop and get help. Good luck and be easy
  17. I wore a sundress and flip flops...i had to keep on the bra to keep the girls supported if u no what i mean...it was easier to have them supported good luck
  18. My first meal at a restaurant was parmeasaun (spelling) crusted fish 140 cals and delish and a side of mash potatoes. I also used to eat at red robin and yes bottomless fries mmm...(they are endless fries, yes the basket keeps coming back filled with more)
  19. Congratulations!! Welcome to the other side i had my surgery 20 days ago. The only thing i remember is saying bye to my hub then being wheeled off in the stretcher, but i also for some reason remember a big huge bright light not sure if i woke up during surgery or was still a little woke right before but thats all, I had a rough first 7 days with the gas and pain, but at day 8 it was like it never happened. I was.back to normal. Remember it gets better and if you have a question there are lots of people here to ask. Not one question is a dumb question.
  20. My PCP is the only doctor besides my surgeon that knows about my surgery so far. Although my PCP did not suggest getting the Lap Band when I told her I was looking into it, she was excited for me and actually said It was a good idea, and that she recently was at a weight loss center speech or some sort and knew info and sat there and talked to me about it. Now I am 19 days post op, and it was the best thing I did for myself. My PCP is leaving the practice but when I seen her post op she requested that when I get to where I am comfortable with my weight she would like me to send her a picture of me, pre and post so she can see how well I did. I wish she wasn't leaving because I have seen so much of her since January with the whole 6 month supervised diet and all, plus my kids seen her, I am going to miss her.
  21. I just took my kiddos to see Despicable Me 2 also, it was good, I got my kids a popcorn and a bottles water to share. I ate before we went and took my to go bottle of water with me. I was fine during the movie, the popcorn smelled good but I didn't give in. I am also 19 days post op.
  22. I did GREAT! I am a little over 2 1/2 weeks post op and worked until 3pm (and I work in a hospital that was full of junk food and snacks) then took my kiddos over to family's for a BBQ as I sat there and chatted while everyone else ate, I drank my water with Mio, I don't care that much about food anymore, Its the reason I had to get this surgery, and now I got the band im not messing it up. I see how easy it is for one to cheat on their diet, believe me I thought about it and that's that just a thought. going strong.
  23. Take two popsicles put in cup, put cup in microwave for about 15-30 seconds, take sticks out of popsicles, take spoon and mush together melted popsicle, now you have a slushie, i lived on these and its a good way to get 6 ounces in. Plus i liked that you eat with a spoon so its tricking you to think your "eating" im 2 1/2 weeks post op and still eat this
