  1. Wow! What a long way to come body and mind! Thanks for sharing that, it really does brighten my day to hear all the positive mile stones. I too am enjoying this site, there is something to be learned from every post. Do the happy dance!
  2. Yikes! So sorry to hear this for you. Can't help with info, but wanted to let you know we care! They will figure it out. Good luck!
  3. FYI, hoping this helps... I woke up with severe heartburn. Call your doc or send them an email to make sure it's ok... But OMG... what a difference Pepcid makes!
  4. I too, am one day post op. right there with you when it comes to the shoulder pain. IPLB. Gave me some great advice about walking every hour and a half. I did that during the day and most of the night. I have some discomfort on day two, but nothing like it was yesterday. I hope to be even further along when I move around tomorrow. Hang in there! It gets better! We are coming out of our cocoon- on our way to fly butterfly! Feel better soon!
  5. It's easy to get sucked into the negative, remember, the complications are pretty low. Try to look at it as getting by one more day. Enjoy your bath, and the rest of the evening. It will look better in the morning!
  6. Sorry you are struggling with this. You had ALOT done. Be kind to yourself, and try to relax. Sometimes we just need a little time to let our bodies and our emotions heal before we tackle more challenges. hope you feel better soon.
  7. Since everyone says each person is different, I would listen to your body. If you are loosing and staying full, I feel your doc will let you know if you do not need additional. How awesome to be there so soon!
  8. I use Greek yogurt, about 2 oz of juice, 3 frozen strawberry, a few frozen blueberries, Sometimes two slices of frozen banana, 3 ice cubes. I think the key is all the fruit is frozen. It is milkshake consistency once blended. You can also use tofu. I tried making a protein shake from fresh fruit, I found it disgusting.
  9. What do you do when your energy is low? Do yo drink something? Eat something? Exercise? Supplements? What works for you as a bandster?
  10. Good luck! We are wishing you well on your new journey!
  11. Good luck! We are all wishing you well! Just do it!
  12. I love the idea on a weight loss chart! Gonna go make one up and and measurements for inches. Might even put today's clothing size and as it gets smaller. I need that motivation to remind me to move it! Thanks Hoover!
  13. Hey GG, I know you are right after Hannaband and myself. Blessings sent your way, and I hope you are only happy excited for Thursday! Will try to post and keep you informed.
  14. So gg, I am asking for prayers for god to guide dr cohens hands for a successful surgery on we'd morning @ 9:30. Can you help me out?
  15. Hannaband, I go in at 9:30 on Wednesday. It looks like it.'s just you and me kid! All clear liquids tomorrow! And then .....Christmas! Keep in touch, so confident but excited as well, how are you my friend? I just had my last Greek yogurt before no full liquids tomorrow My plan is to get a mani pedi in the morning, head to the chiropractor office for a adjustment, then do some shopping to keep myself busy and not thinking of food, tidy the house, do the laundry. Get my long dress out to wear to the docs office, flat shoes that slide on, matching socks. Remove all jewelry, braid my hair back. I paid for everything already at the docs office, picked up the pre and post medications, heating pad on my bed, treadmill accessible, gas x caps, could not find strips. SF Popsicles, small pillow for hugging and driving, spit cup for car if needed. Anything else I forgot.???? What's on your list? The very best of luck to you, and I will be prayer for you surgeons hands to be skilled and blessed! Peace be with you, friend.
  16. Or a recumbent stationary bike....
  17. Really, aren't you amazed at how many food commercials are on in the evenings? Tomorrow I start a day of clear liquids, I just have to look away from the tv screen! Big bucks behind making us head hungry!
  18. Is water walking/ exercising in a pool an option for you?
  19. Add the bran at the very end of cooking. It yummy and so good for you!
  20. I always thought cereal did not keep me full because there wasn't enough protein. Any one else know if that's correct? Although, steel cut oatmeal, a little bran, a little cinnamon, truvia and fresh blueberries...mmmmm, maybe my fav breakfast. Cold cereal... Not so much.
  21. To be honest, the first two days of the liquid diet were rough for me, I just had to keep re enforcing what my goal is and just ignor the hungries. I mixed my protein shake with fat free milk and a couple of ice cubes, yummy. I am using Bari Care protein shakes, I bought them on the web. I have tried many shakes before, this by far does not feel like diet food. I am on day four now. Two more days, then one day clear liquid, next day surgery. Something else I have used are cream of potato, tomato, squash, celery, etc.. Soup. Find the 90 something fat free, then blend it to liquify any small pieces, microwave and enjoy. Lentil soup, black bean soup, they can all be puréed and really satisfy. Don't forget, cream of wheat hot cereal, even grits thinned in a pinch. My favorite shake is Greek yogurt, three frozen strawberries, maybe eight blueberries, couple cubes of ice, about an ounce of fruit juice and trivia to taste. Good luck! Hope this helps you.
  22. Oh my gosh! What an amazing difference! You look so great! You must be so proud of yourself, cause we sure are! Enjoy your new opportunitys. Good luck, and thanks so much for stopping by to give us hope and inspiration!
