I had a 7 day liquid pre-op- Protein shakes- water- sf Jello sf popsicles sf fudgesicles- broths I lost only 3#. However, I did a self imposed 2 shake 2 x 100cal low carb Snacks & whatever I wanted for dinner & lost 8# from july 5th til my pre op diet. Starting weight:228 Surgery weight: 215 Current: 207. allons-y

Look through a search for old posts. I know that we've had a few pregnant on purpose sleevers in the past. Many many oops pregnant ladies too. I think it also has to do w/ stopping birth control & your hormone levels. May want to get some bloodwork done to see how the baby makers doing. allons-y

Alton brown & rachel ray & sara mullin taught me to cook. That & other peoples moms. Mine wasnt there & when she was she fed us Mc Nasty. Look for some alton brown dvd's he really breaks down the technique so once you get the foundation you can experiment. Also, the hungry girl lady makes "healthy" though she uses a lot of processed stuff. But, her recipies are generally for only 1or 2 which is nice. allons-y

I've heard of the shiratakyi noodles. I think they're very similar to the Quest noodles in terms of the smelly Water in the package. I think they may even be the same thing on the inside. allons-y

I actually met 2 people in real life that I stalked from here. I think it threw them for a loop that I'd read ALL their posts & knew their story. But, I played it cool... Eventually they realized I knew their story & was being polite/ pretending i didnt know already. Kinda killed the conversation. allons-y

I got the Just great stuff powdered peanutbutter from Giant in the "healthy" section. Wegmans sells it also in the regular peanutbutter section. Similar stats to PB2 & tastes heavenly. allons-y

Yes, I frequently either feel like fattest person in the room except for when I go to bariatric meetings then I'm the skinny B who doesn't belong. I was told by a bbw that I am her after & why was I perusing wls. Yea... Still got 100# to lose. I'd be you in 5 years w/ 150 to lose if I hadn't done this now. I decided it was someone elses turn to be the fattest person in the room/ in the family etc. I'm tured of being the fat friend/fat cousin/ fat school mate etc. allons-y

That chicken casserole looks yum. I had blended & strained chicken tortilla soup. Kept it warm in thermos wrapped in heating blanket. Sent the hubby to go get it w/ pink tupperware as Sweetwater doesn't have to go cups for soup. Lol he said he got weird looks. Don't care- Sooo good. allons-y

I'm a newbie post op too. ::hugs:: We gotta stick together others just don't get it. Hopefully you'll feel better after they fill you up-don't weigh for a bit so you can work out the extra Water weight. I know I once cried off 11# in one week! Hope you feel better. allons-y

Hey guys, in anticipation for pureed foods whats the best tasting ( sleeve friendly) kind of refried Beans? allons-y

I brought many many pillows like 5- 2 " mini", 1 log, 1 round, 1 regular-used them all. I hate sleeping on my back & used them under my arms & feet/knees & butt to wedge me up. I used chapstick & bought a variety pack of lip smackers. Nice to have flavor! I brought ipad & phone Charger & extension cord Small tabletop fan - needed the breeze & noise Eyemask Lucky hat Nightie-I sewed velcro to the straps so I could put on/ take off w/o problems Robe Toiletry case-brush, hair ties, face wipes, deodorant, extra glasses. I brought headphones but didnt use bc I had private room. allons-y

Cara- that really really sucks. Any chance you can switch insurances? Or perhaps rally your HR coordinator to provide a different insurance option? The squeaky wheel gets the oil. Maybe if enough people complain they'll change? Or perhaps you can get your own plan just for you? Sorry to hear that. I got luck & have only 1000 ded & 30% co insurance but if it had been more than I'd be an out of country surgery. Start socking away the pennies & seeing what you can do to hustle up some $$. You can also take it out in your student loans for medical expenses if you're a full time student. Good luck. Wish you the best. allons-y

Where I live our community association puts out a list of young people looking for odd jobs. Last time I had surgery, I had one of them come interview for the job w/her mom for mothers helper type stuff. She heated up food or picked up food for me. Helped me to the bathroom, walked my dogs, fed the dogs, she came by 2x a day on weekends & 1/day for school. Maybe you can find some nursing students at the local community college who would be up for both helping w/ your child & you? allons-y
