Alton brown & rachel ray & sara mullin taught me to cook. That & other peoples moms. Mine wasnt there & when she was she fed us Mc Nasty. :(

Look for some alton brown dvd's he really breaks down the technique so once you get the foundation you can experiment.

Also, the hungry girl lady makes "healthy" though she uses a lot of processed stuff. But, her recipies are generally for only 1or 2 which is nice.
