Why Are Tea/coffee Taboo Post Surgery ?

Theres a product called aeroshot. It's powdered sugar free caffine powder that dissolves in your mouth. It comes in like an inhaler. The lemon lime is definately medicinal but it does the job & is instantly absorbed. I know they say caffine dehydrates you & can make you hungrier. However, do your own research in peer reviewed medical journals: Pubmed and make your own conclusion. I've always been told that a liquid drink is a liquid drink doesn't matter if its got caffine or not and that it does dehydrate you some but theres more liquid in a mouthful than dehydrating caffine. Obviously, good girl disclaimer: you should follow your doctors orders... Yada yada yada : no.

baby bullet or something like it?

Hey, i was looking into the baby bullet too but then realized that what I really wanted was the $20- extras pack that had the silicone ice cube tray & the dial & date cute containers. You can buy it at walmart instock or online. I also saw 1/2C ziplock/ generic equivalent containers 6 for 2-3$ In the plastic ware / ziplock section of my local walmart they have 2ounce little cups 60 count with lids for $4. But, they're not microwavable. They melt. The nicer find a lid ones were 6-7$ for same size. I think I'll blend & freeze some wendy's chili bc I know I'll like that & make some of that ricotta bake I saw on here to freeze ahead. The little cups will also help with the Jello portioning. I also considered buying a sleeve of restaurant sauce cups & lids. Like the chipotle ones are exactly 4 ounces & I've 1&2 ounce ones too. I'm not sure what I'd do with sooo many cups though.

    Tesselon Perles

I'm pre-op. I was told they no longer have them in the US bc they can be dangerous if you throw up or have a lot of reflux because they "numb" your cough reflex. They are a paralytic and that's why the label warns not to crush or chew them. I'd check with the pharmacist to start & then chase it up the tree to your doctor. Good luck & be careful with them!
  5. Kirk- thank u for this video. It really is informative & nice to see the difference!

    Pork Tenderloin Ideas?

Marinate for 30 min in splash of soy, TSB or two of olive oil ,salt & fresh ground pepper to taste & 2TSB of finely diced rosemary. Fresh preferred. Make little holes in the tenderloin with pairing knife and place peeled garlic cloves in the holes maybe 8 per tenderloin. Bake in convection oven on a rack with pan underneath to catch drippings 450 degrees for 15 min then lower to 350 degrees for 15-30 more min until reaches temperature you like. I cook for 18 more min & then rest my meat in a foil tent for 5-10 min to let juices settle before slicing. It gives me a medium/ medium well inside. You can cook more if you want less pink. Recently they changed the guidelines on doneness for safe eating so you can have some pinkness. Another favorite is to use the blackening spices/cajun spice blend on tenderloin- use moderate amount but don't go crazy if you don't like spicy. Bake the same as above. I am blessed to have convection oven it gives quicker cooking & a more crisp outside. Your oven times may vary if using regular oven. Also, be careful of the silverskin. It needs to come off before cooking as its gross to eat. Use a sharp paring knife or similar to pierce the silver skin through and then grasp the silver skin and lift upwards running knife along it so as to remove the least amount of meat while removing skin. Like filleting a fish. Good luck!

Looking hott!!! Your hubby/ boyfriend is super lucky!!! Seriously, congrats! Super jelly as I'm still pre-op!
  9. Have you tried the Jello blender recipie? I vaguely remember it from when I was a kid. It had to do with whipping up 1/2 the pack of hello with milk & hot Water in a blender & then making the other 1/2 regular but you make 1/2 let it gel & then layer on the other 1/2. Gives the jello a different taste & texture.

Hello Karina!!! I'm similar stats but a bit older 28. Anyways, welcome!!! I'm pre-op too stuck in the dreaded kaiser options program for 6 months before I get a final approval & referral to surgeon. I think the not knowing part is the worst bit. Anyways, just saying hai!

    Post Sleeve Bucket List :)

    - fit into the movie theater seats with someone on both sides. - shop at regular size clothes stores & not worry that they don't have my size or that it'll be not cute in a xxl. -wear the pretty sandals in the right size bc feet too fat to fit now -have more girly hands, fingers worthy of my amazing wedding ring -not have my husband or dad borrow my pants because they won't fit them in the future -chase my furbabies arounfld the yard with vigor -not have the belly interfere with driving/ sit in the correct position for both airbags & the pedals -stop being a slave to food & constantly looking for my next meal.

PALMERS FIRMING BUTTER IS A WIN!

If you think about how this heal: inflammation to increase circulation , fever: heat on the area You can recreate this in doing a lotion of any kind, obviously you want good stuff in there but then the rubbing is so important as it increases the circulation to that area & creates heat which is good for waking up the area. I broke my coccyx & they used ultra sound massage to incease blood flow & warm the area & my butt never looked better! Same logic applies here, just like preggo ladies rub the lotion it goes both ways.

    Did You Make a Wig?

Actually if you google about locks of love they have quite a racket going of # of usable ponytails in vs pony tails sold to offset costs vs #of wigs distributed to needy. I donated 12 inches to the Pantene beautiful lengths program which is their pro-bono wig program that they pay for the wigs to be made. You could if your hair isn't up to their requirements have your hair made into extensions. That you can have attached when your hair thins. I'd check with some of the african american salons as they have more experience & much better prices for that kind of thing. Also, in my state getting braids & weaves doesn't require a license so the cost is much much lower if you go to a braider type person & not a regular stylist.

    anybody eles with Aetna insurance?

I just found out that you can go to a lawyer to help you get your denial appealed. The one office I was looking at said that they do that on every denied case because it's discrimination and they lay out the costs of not doing the surgery to the insurance company.

    Disability?

In virginia it works like this: for the first week you must use all sick days you have & then get no pay for the missing days. Then for the second week you can use short term disability & get paid. Ask for the fmla papers for your doctor to fill out.
  18. Have you thought of trying the sodastream flavored syrups & flavorless protein powder?
  19. Ok real idea this time: Wlsappeals.com They're lawyers that help you get it approved. Even if your plan doesn't have bariactric coverage they can argue that it's discrimination to not offer coverage for specific diagnosis. They can also appeal for if you don't meet the numbers for eligibility. Not sure if you can do it on your own but an advocate is always a good idea. At least call & get a free consult or their data on your insurance & your odds for over turn
  20. Gonna get sooo flammed for this but : Ankle weights? Gain 15 + weights for the rest? Eat tons of salty food& take psuedophed right before your blood pressure test? Manipulate the test. Think of ur babies getting hit by a car, or other stressful situations during test? Eat sugary foods after midnight on the days of your glucose test. Hey- insurance wants to play- fight fire with fire! Not advocatibg this but, iit an option ifyou can still sleep at night knowing you gamed the system.

    Insurance ans plastics?

Google weight loss advocates / lawyers. They can help you get the insurance to pay for it & sometimes just the threat of alawywr on side is enough. Be sure to get your pcp to document any rashes/ irritations or limits on ur daily activities such as want to bike but can't bc I can't bend at the hip due to skin. Sometimes the plastic surgeon will help by taking pics of the pannus hanging below the pubis or any range of motion limitations. They'll only pay usually for the pannus not a full tummy tuck. Though some people have gotten arms covered if they can document range of motion limitations or severe skin problems / fungus. Good luck!

    NSV - and a ticket!

This happened to a coworker! They pulled him over for driving while hispanic, gave his info & he's lost about 60-80# and they accused him of giving a stolen license. They gave him a real ticket and said he had to prove his identity & get a new license. He went to court & won but man that cop must of been blind bc he still looks like himself just skinnier.
  25. Please find a good clinical team, you need the input of a variety of disciplines to get the best care results. Seizures aren't fun and can be quite dangerous if they occur in the wrong settings or so frequently that you have damage to other organ groups. (Like hitting your head on the way down, or breaking your wrist, I'm told that it can also be caused by ischemic attacks to the brain which is why they ordered all those imaging tests.) Hope you feel better and get a concrete answer, but sometimes the best answer they can give you is a honest I don't know, not helpful but at least they've leveled with you.
