    Just had Surgery

Walk girl walk! It'll wear you out! I had trouble sleeping my second night too. Itching is normal try to gently rub, it is very very normal and actually a sign of healing!! Woot woot! Congrats!!
  2. I am 3 weeks post. Was fine with Adkins pre surgical but can't keep them post surgical. I use unjury protein. It is great perfect in the blender with skim milk and ice. Makes a great smoothie. What the foam/froth post surgery it may upset your tummy. Unjury is bought online their chocolate splendor is great vanilla too and the unflavored goes great in addition to my purees. It has the highest protein count and lowest carb I can find. My favorite recipe Is the chocolate spledor, PB2 peanut butter powder, 1 whole banana, skim milk & ice. Even without the banana it's like drinking a reeses cup!!! Good luck with surgery!!

    Pant Sizes

    I'm 5'3 with a starting weight of 246 wearing size 18 pant
  4. I am having some different effects from my birth control. But I've had it/been on it even before my weight gain. I have implanon and have had it since August 2007. I have noticed on my big loss weeks I have stages of spotting and moodiness. Now if your doctor has you on antibiotics or blood thinners is possible for your period to pop up irregularly and really it depends on the type of BC you use. Please make sure your staying hydrated. I would check with your doctor on an iron supplement. 14days can put us banders at risk for anemia. Hope this helps... Don't freak just chat with your doc or their med aide they will find the answers!

    Upset for the first time...

This happened with my grandmother the day before my surgery!! It was so frustrating she wanted me to do all these diets and other crazy things. My fathers side reactions were all the same. It's frustrating but keep confident in what you want!! You'll get more comfortable with talking about it as time goes by remember its you that matters! You are strong! You can do this!!! Good Luck!

Where did you go for 6 month pre op diet?

First CONGRATULATIONS on taking the first steps!!! Talk to your surgeons office. They should be able to give you options for your nutritiomist's and psychologist. Make sure to ask for people who have been through a weight loss struggle. My psychologist was actually a fellow lapbander, she was amazing and helped me set expectations through her journey! My nutritionist though was a bit rough she didn't understand my lifestyle nor did she understand what I was going through. Ask questions everyone is there to help! This forum is also a wonderful tool! I didn't have this until recently I'm already 4 months post op and down almost 50 lbs!! Good Luck!!

    liquid trial

My liquid diet was tough. I will tell you I enjoyed every last minute of food before that diet started. I know I'm terrible, I had just heard I wouldn't be able to eat a lot of my favorite foods for a while. When I did start my liquid diet it was hard!! For me specifically because I lost being able to chew on something ( I know that sound silly but it proves how psychologically involved this journey is). But anyways back to the diet. Mine was to be a high protein liquid diet. I bought Adkins shakes and drank those twice a day. Also chicken & beef broth, sugar free puddings & Lots & lots of sugar free jello (cool whip has 1 carb pertablespoon ) After day three I cheated on the liquid part. I ate lite protein (chicken & turkey) lunch meats (I know not the best food) and cheese chunks. The goal was to get me prepared for after but mainly to shrink the size of my liver so the surgery would be less invasive. Honestly after surgery I didn't want to eat anything with taste it took almost a week for that desire to come back. Make sure you keep drinking fluids the more hydrated you are through this whole process the easier it will be!! Good Luck & Congrats!!
