I love it!!! I soooo know what you are experiencing - right down to the wedding dress. And yes, I rocked that strapless gown and you will too!
So I initially lost 140 pounds and then gained back 50. Now I'm back on the band wagon and working hard. I went shopping this weekend and was so pumped because instead of the 18s being tight, I was getting into 16s! Then, as I was bragging to my husband, I showed him the tag on the shorts and found that I had accidentally picked up -drum roll please - a 14! Not only did I not notice, I could wear them! (Pre-surgery I was a 28, sometimes 30).
OK - so the scale says I gained 5 pounds while on vacation. DON'T CARE! It's working and I'm loving it!
Ride this high! It's motivation and you deserve to wallow in success!!!

krg75 got a reaction from Singer in To Fill or Not to Fill
Well I did get a fill. They started with 3cc's. They do it under floroscopy(sp??). They injected the saline and then had me swallow some Barium stuff to watch it go down, The tech said it looked fine, but before I sat up, I could feel it coming back up and not going down. So they took .5cc out and told me to sit awhile and drink some water and see what happened. I started on the water, but it just didnt feel right, felt like it was not wanting to go down. I kept swallowing, idk if it was nerves or what. The tech came to check on me and immediatly saw me swallowing hard and got me back on the table and took another .5cc out. Then I had more water and everything was good. I was really nervous, but the techs were awesome. They were so understanding. That night, I had some potato soup and it DID NOT agree with me. I vomited for about 30 min...just sick and ugh feeling. Then I was fine. It was really thined so idk what it was. Have not had any problems since.

I had my fill on Friday last, I live six hours drive from my doc, I thought about hanging around and asked the doc, he said it wasn't necessary and he was absolutely right. If you are following the rules, you will be fine. I had all the same worries as you, but in the end it was all groundless I feel no different than before the fill, only less hungry. Good Luck I am sure you will be fine.

I am anxious to hear how you did. I have a HORRIBLE phobia of throwing up. And, I hadn't heard the horror stories you mention above with a fill and I have 2 friends who have lapbands. Please keep me posted

Could you hang out in town, do a little shopping? Take a book, go to the park and read? Take your camera and find something interesting, go to the zoo? Just thought if you are there that early, you could find something fun to do, and if you have a problem, head back to the office before your long drive home. Or even a night over? Good luck! You will do fine!

Talk over your worries with your doctor. I had surgery on Feb. 25, and haven't had a fill yet. On my last visit with the doctor, we decided I was doing well with out one. I will have a fill on my next visit. My loss is slowing down now, but I'm still pleased with my progress.
If you do have the fill, I'm sure you will be fine. Good luck tomorrow and try not to worry.

I have had 3 fills and total they are under 3cc. My doctor just does small ones. I have noticed people post they have large ones. I don't know what is right or wrong but maybe discuss this with your doctor. Good luck with whatever you and he choose.

I use a Fitbit to record all my intake and movements. But there are many free sites that people talk about. Fitness Pal is one of them. You write in what you cook and I guess it helps with the calories.

Good for you!! Start making healthy tasty stuff for your drivers. You will help your health and theirs. That is what I do at family pot lucks now. Also, drip hints of what you like now they will get it in time. My staff use to bring me M&M's all the time, now I get fruit or black coffee. When some ask why I changed- I said new taste or I'm getting older gotta watch things better.
Great job- keep up the good work.

I'm very proud of you. Maybe it is time to say, I am trying to lose some weight and I can use the help of not eating any more bad things. Meanwhile, they are very sweet, but then you are too.

Wonderful and congratulations to you!! Being positive is the best thing. i don't understand weight and clothes sizes anymore. In high school I weighed maybe 150-160 (too many years ago) and I wore the same size I am now and I weigh 193. Maybe the manufacturers are screwing with us.

Terry, really glad I looked back on some of the blogs of the past week and saw this one. It is so true on how it is so easy for us to look at your failures and not at our victories. I was thinking about the markers you talked about and was reminded of a Biggest Loser episode from several years ago. The contestants had been competing for several weeks and the show took them out to a football field and had all of these bags on the field. In each bag was some sort of product that weighed as much as that particular contestant had lost in the previous weeks. Then the contestants had to walk across the field carrying that bag of weight. They were amazed at how heavy the bags were and how tired they were after carrying them. That was their marker. So, having said that, the last 2 weeks have been a little disappointing to me. I was banded on January 23rd and including pre-op have lost 27 lbs and am excited about that, but, I have been at that weight for 2 weeks now. I know I shouldn't be bummed, but wish I could get the scale to move. So, last night my son and I were at Target and were passing the exercise area. On the end of the aisle was a display of weights. I picked up the 20 lb weight and was a little surprised at how heavy it seemed. I have lost that 20 lb weight plus 7 more. If I had to carry around that bag with 27 lbs up and down a football field I would be exhausted. That was my marker. If you had to carry a bag with all of the weight you have lost how would you feel after walking up and down the field? Maybe a visualization of that bag of weight could be your marker.
