  1. Good luck to all of you who are being banded today! I hope everything goes well for everyone and you all have a speedy recovery!
  2. Molly, I am on the 7th too! I am on day 5 of my pre-op diet. I am so excited and ready to be on the other side! Good luck to you next Thursday as well! What time is your surgery?
  3. I felt the same exact way when I got my date, and then again when my insurance approved. I also started my pre-op diet today and felt that way again for a few minutes today. I think it is normal to feel like that while going through this process. Congratulations on your date and good luck with your surgery!
  4. I always weigh myself in the morning after going to the bathroom, but before getting in the shower. I hope this helps!
  5. Good luck. Keep me posted on how its going. I am sure you will like him.
  6. Hi Cindy! Welcome to the group! I am also scheduled on 3/7 for LapBand surgery. There is great advice on these boards and many people really care about you and your journey. We can be band buddies, since we are on the same day for surgery! My Pre-op diet starts tomorrow. I am nervous and excited about the whole thing. My parents and other family and husband are all supportive of my journey. But being on here, you meet so many people that know "exactly" how you feel and what you are going through. I look forward to chatting with you and sharing our journey.
  7. It is so great to meet another Dr. Glasgow patient. I am very impressed with Dr. Glasgow, his staff, his practice and his program. He is very experience and all he does is LapBand surgery. He is the head of the bariatric surgery department at the hospital. He is very involved in every aspect of his patients' journey. They have a great follow up program that includes online chat groups weekly, and bi-weekly in office support groups. He is also a surgeon who is truly "there" for his patients. He tells stories about how many times he has come back from vacations or met a patient in the ER or office when they are having problems. All patients have his personal email to get in touch with him in a hurry if needed. His whole practice is great. I hope you enjoy the seminar at his office and decide to go forward with him. You will be in good hands. What insurance do you have?
  8. Hi! I feel you pain as far as being away from your son. My daughter is almost the same age, we also co-sleep and I also haven't been away from her for a night since she was born. I am not breast feeding, but I do get how you feel about being away overnight. I feel guilty about being away from my daughter too. But I think both little ones will be fine and we will be home the next day. Try to put the guilt behind you now about letting it get this bad. You have taken the steps necessary to reverse it! That is a major step to make! Be proud that you have done it and excited that it is getting so close. An embrace Hubby for being so supportive. Mine has never struggled with his weight and doesn't express himself very well at all. So, while I know he supports me in this, he isn't excited or cheerleading for me. You know?
  9. My journey was pretty quick. I went to surgeon seminar on 12/17, first consult was on 1/11. The program and my insurance required the one psych and nutrition visit that I had on 2/5. My insurance approved right away and surgery is on 3/7. My pre-op is a 10 day liquid diet and I don't have an amount needed to lose before surgery. I hope this helps. Good luck with your journey and navigating the insurance process!
  10. Finally someone else on March 7th! I was beginning to think I was the only one on that date. I start pre-op liquid tomorrow. Good luck to you! We will do great!
  11. We have the same surgeon! Cool! I am interested to see the responses you get. It would be nice to have good choices without processing everything. Yuck!
  12. Thank you for the recommendation! If you didn't puree, what were you eating during the mushie phase of recovery? Just curious.
  13. Thank you very much! I will check it out!
  14. Hello, I am just starting to think about the fact that I need a food processor in order to puree my food during the "mushie" phase. Does anyone have any recommendations for a brand or model of a food processor that would be great for doing this? I don't need a big one since I will only be pureeing portions for myself. Any feedback would be appreciated!
  15. Hang in there and rest! Follow all of your doctor's orders and you will be feeling better in no time. Congratulations on getting through the surgery!
  16. I start pre-op liquid diet next Monday for surgery on 3/7! I have already been following it though and am doing two meals a day now. This way I am not miserable when I need to do all day! Good luck to everyone that is starting pre-op diet for surgeries at the beginning of March!
  17. Hi Megan, Welcome to the Forum and congrats on your surgery! My surgery is scheduled for March 7th! I will be starting my official pre-op diet a week from today. Even though I am already following it for Breakfast and lunch most days. Do you ladies have a pre-op diet?
  18. I just paid a $200 program fee at my surgeon's office. It is a requirement to be paid by the Pre-Op consult. At his office, it covers a lot of the programs that are offered by his practice, such as support groups and game nights. These are things that are important to this practice, but aren't covered by insurance. I had looked into another hospital and they charged $350 program fee and you couldn't even start the journey until you had paid it.
  19. Congratulations! That is so amazing! That is my first goal, to get out of plus sizes. It will feel so amazing to not have to shop in that section! You have done a fabulous job! You should so proud!
  20. Good luck with starting your liquid diet tomorrow! I am not looking forward to that at all! I start mine on the 25th, but I am already doing Breakfast as liquid just to not end up shocked when I have to start the diet. Congrats on leading the way with surgery on March 1st! woo hoo!
  21. Thank you all very much! It is three weeks from tomorrow. And its all official. I got the approval letter from insurance in the mail last night. Yay!
