  1. You have to remember that the medical profession is not an exact science. 1 + 1 is not always = 2. Every individual is unique. What works for me might not work for you. Doctors are aware of that and they do their recommendations according to what they see with their practice.
  2. Great post!! Congrats on the new you.
  3. Banded Jan 24, 2013 and I have the 10cc realize band. I can actually feel my port and going on my 2nd fill next week. No problems here.
  4. Josh...are your fills done with flourocospy? Maybe you can ask your surgeon if that is an option. Draven....I am like you. I had my first fill and I can eat more than a cup and don't feel any restriction. I just have to keep in mind that I shouldn't eat more just because I can. Good luck guys.....we can do this!!!
  5. Mine is liquids for 24 hours then progress as tolerated
  6. I took 2 weeks just for the hell of it..jk. That is what my surgeon suggested since I do heavy lifting.
  7. I did my band at an Oband center here in Las Vegas. They have support group. With regard to the nutritionist, she is present at every follow up appointment and we have her cell number where we can text or call her for questions.
  8. When I got banded last Jan 24th..I started with 1/2 a cup and work my way to 1 cup per meal.
  9. Congratulations! Yes you're going to off those meds sooner than you think. Welcome aboard!
  10. Thanks all for the support.
  11. My weight loss results is on my ticker....you can see it on my posts. Weight loss is going to be different from each individual. I was back to work after 2 weeks after the surgery. I am not going to lie to you but the first 2 weeks of the diet was tough (liquid diet). Now I am on regular food. I can eat anything I want but smaller portions. I had my first fill 2 weeks ago. I am losing about 2-3 lbs per week for now. I feel great and just had blood test done with my primary doc and all my levels are now normal.
  12. Results as in weight loss???
  13. I really like him. The staff were incredible. My surgery went great, no complications or problems at all.
  14. Woohoo! All my blood tests results were normal; cholesterol, hemoglobin, liver function, kidney function, glucose etc. My BP was down to normal (111/80). She is changing my meds to a lower dose and I will see her again in 3 months. Last time I saw her, I weighed 267 lbs and today 221 lbs. What a good news to end my very busy work day.
  15. He did mine last January 25, 2013.
  16. Why are you guys drinking your protein when you can eat mat or fish? Sorry just wondering. The only time I have protein drink is after workout or after a fill.
