  1. Anyone ever try these?
  2. Name, real or screen: Danielle Goal weight for March 31st: 240 Weight on March 1st: 248 Age: 32 Dietary goal for March: increase Water decrease sodium Exercise goal for March: return to gym post op Personal goal for March: stay positive Date banded: 2/8/13 Total weight loss since banding/pre op diet: 31lbs What is your good luck charm?: n/a yet
  3. I think people confuse the band as being a miracle quick fix weight loss device instead of a life style change tool
  4. Apple sauce.. Sugar free pudding.. Some meds come in liquid form.. Talk to ur doctor to check
  5. if your measuring for calories it's super important to weigh your food before cooking Ex. Red meat Loses weight (due to losing moisture) when cooked but it doesn't lose calories, fat, nutrition, etc Ex. Rice Pasta etc gains weight (absorbs moisture) after cooking but doesn't gain calories, nutrition, Etc If your measuring strictly for amounts of food.. Then after is fine
  6. Anyone else get super excited with small progress? For example: I started at 279... I got so happy when I hit the 260s.. Again and the 250s.. And now that I hit the 240s... I'm like dancing around the house.. I personally feel that there's no progress that's too small.. But there's so many threads here where people are complaining that they only lost 30lbs.. 30lbs is the same weight as a 2 year old!!!
  7. I use the eat slower app! It's awesome!
  8. Just was told to take mucinex liquid if that doesn't work I should head in to the dr because its only need 2.5 weeks since surgery .. Thanks guys
  9. So I have come down with a wicked case of bronchitis.. I went to my regular doctor and he prescribed me liquid antibiotics (yuck) and liquid Tylenol (even more yuck) just in case of high fevers. My questions are .. Can this severe coughing cause my lap band to slip and should I call my surgeon? I'm 2 weeks 3 days post op This is probably the only thing not covered in my lap band material
  10. Vegetarian or not.. Lapband or not.. Protein is super important Quinoa, barley Beans, lentils, legumes Tofu Peanuts, almonds, cashews, Tempeh Here's a good article http://vegetarian.about.com/od/healthnutrition/tp/protein.htm
  11. I swore I was having a heart attack when I had a gallbladder attack. If you can't go to your doctor you should go to an ER.. If your passing gallstones they can get stuck in your pancreas (like mine did) resulting in pancreatitis (horrible) or possibly even damage to the ducts of your pancreas. Minor to fix but not something to take lightly
  12. Me too!!! Well almost 300 at 4'11" I'm ok with throwing the food out like hunger wise I have mentally hit the perfect diet zone .. I just feel guilty about money lol
  13. I find this the most difficult! I'm wasting so much money on left overs that are just going bad in the fridge.. Anyone else had/have this issue?
  14. Just keep in mind that your weightloss is inspirational and you look awesome!
  15. Bluebonnet.. They are lower in calories.. High in protein.. organic.. and taste just like ice cream!
  16. I did it at 270ish... Didn't have a problem with the kayak at all
  17. I joined this forum because my husband was ticking me off because he's not supportive when it comes to dieting at all. He has never struggled with weight so he can't really relate. Put in your head to talk to someone else when it comes to dietary advice! My first time in a restaurant I excused myself before ordering and texted a friend that had WLS years ago and got her advice on what to eat and order.
  18. Try taking tomorrow and increasing your activity level.. See how u feel! Everyone is different.. I resumed normal activity (minus exercising) 6 days after my surgery cause I felt great.. The more active I was the less gas pains I had.
  19. Yes... My weightloss had slowed down since starting food again.. But it has been consistently steady about a lb a day now
  20. I'm 14 days post op and the dr wants me between 800-1000 calories.. I lost 27 lbs on total so far
