  1. It's only day 3.. This is pretty standard for any major abdominal surgery.. When your waking and u feel that ball lift your hands above your head and move slowly side to side.. It helps move the gas pocket
  2. I was told NO! I haven't had it since the day before my surgery (feb 8th) and thank god the cravings for it are completely gone
  3. That's the only way I can stomach the shakes.. I freeze the fruit then blend it
  4. My mother and I both had to have our gallbladders removed within 2 months of giving birth.. It sucks
  5. My insurance didn't accept ww... They wanted weight logs, progress notes and food logs by a certified nutritionist.. . I used the additional 6 months with a nutritionist that had experience specifically in WLS to prepare and practice for how life was gonna be after surgery.. It made post op much easier!
  6. I tell everyone .. the lap band was a new chapter in my life in all aspects. If someone is not going to be supportive of me during a positive change in my life, I am reevaluating my friendship. I even discovered some people that I know fairly well have also had WLS. Even my next door neighbor was banded.
  7. I never even thought of that! I should try! Make the pudding more like a moose
  8. opinions are like a**holes.. everyone has one but they are not meant to be seen. I say this is the decision i came to with the advice from my doctors. thank you for your opinion. in my head im saying "wow you must be really rich and famous since u know more than my doctor" ... i discuess my band with people that can relate due to experience! thats why i love this forum
  9. I actually deleted an old "friend" from highschool off of my facebook because she was such a C**T when the subject was even brought up. She said things like "its the lazy way to lose weight" "its something fat people use because they dont want to change their lifestyle" etc... I was like you never weighed more than 120lbs soak and wet what experience do you have in the weight struggle department... Dont even let uneducated (on the subject) people influence your decisions
  10. Ugh I tried.. I have a real serious issue with texture
  11. Planet fitness usually has like a group personal trainer thing for free.. At the one I used to go to they have it at 6am and I think noon
  12. Hahaha that was my original plan but I watched that stupid video! Lol definitely will make me think twice the next time a friend of mine says "omg watch this"
  13. my fear is strictly the sight of the needle... i knew that I would have to do his.... its just different now that the date is actually approaching.. I should be fine during and after its the before
  14. I'm going to my first fill thursday (3/7/13) and I just made the mistake of watching a video on it... Ughhhj I have a serious fear of needles since I had cancer.. Is it painful? Does it hurt at all? I scared!
  15. Oh I cried like a manic baby for a few days because i didnt know if i made the right choice even though I planned for this for over a year and prepared myself for 6 months .. But I knew something was a little off when I was watching Hotel Transylvania with my son and I cried my eyes out. After that it got to the point where I was laughing because I was crying.
  16. Calories and fat from the cheese soup aren't an issue while your healing.. Your body needs both fat and calories to function properly and even to lose weight.. So if you calculate it into your daily calories its fine (i love broccoli and cheese soup) but u have to watch your sodium. Your Soups should all be low sodium after surgery. you should not be having any carbonation period. It's extremely dangerous combined with the swelling and raw stitches. You can have no sugar added juice added to your Protein shakes instead of Water.. That increases your calories in a healthy safe way.
  17. I have Dr. Schwack... He is an awesome doctor. As Alex said the whole practice is wonderful. You will not be disappointed with anyone from that office.
  18. I have united healthcare and I was approved within a week of them submitting.. Have all your requirements met and they aren't bad
  19. If you have the information packet from the orientation meeting it has a list of all the insurances and what they require for u.. I just had my surgery with dr. Schwack and met dr fielding the day of my surgery.. They are Awesome.
  20. Yes it does.:.. Call the hotline to get the guidelines Most states Medicaid do now because its cheaper to treat obesity than it is to treat all of the health issues it causes
  21. I was banded on the 8th
  22. I was told approximately 90 days
  23. It's not real pancakes.. No flour or anything.. It's made from eggs, oatmeal, and a scoup of protein powder.. (The recipe im working with) I'm having a difficult time with shakes so this would be a good idea for me as an alternative
  24. Oo I saw this recipe this morning.. Looks so good! My friend made them this morning I didn't even know they existed.. I wanna try!
