JULY 2013 BAND BUDDIES
- Getting frustrated
When did you stall? In my own experience I will hit weeks at a time the scale doesn't move at all and the one day it's like I birthed a phantom baby and will be way down. My food and exercise will be consistent thru that time. I'm not sure why one day it just falls off.- I don't mind!!! Go ahead!!! Take my picture!! I'll never hide again.
Get it, girl!!- Day 1
First full day back for me today too - def have better posture- Back to work tomorrow! banded the 19th
How'd it go, mommy?- JULY 2013 BAND BUDDIES
that's around when mine had me so worried i went to my doc. i may have had a hypochondriac moment, but once my doc told me i was healing nicely it did seem to feel better. i'd strained the muscle the port is sewn into on a walk the day before. ice packs over the area helped me quite a bit. he also prescribed me Ketorolac, which his nurse described as ibuprofen on steroids. it's non-narcotic but you can only take it 5 days b/c it's hard on the liver. my percoset wasn't really doing anything. 2 days of the new med and i felt almost back to normal. good luck!- "Fat-Free" Free Zone
I'm with you. i'm still in my post-op diet and there are still a lot of FF and SF products in my life but as I get back to real food I hope to keep a food approach that is local and as close to the whole ingredient as possible. i'm ready to give up refined sugar and flour - i've already had so little of it in the last month+ and my cravings are almost gone so it seems like a good time to let it go. the chems in FF and SF food make me nervous. there's also been some studies around our food sources today vs a hundred (or more) years ago - and when we have a craving for something rich, and drink skim milk - we haven't satisfied the craving, and you might find yourself grazy b/c the craving hasn't been met. but if you had just a small amount of whole milk - you might be satisfied.- Cigna Denied
I saw denied the first time (by CIGNA) because they needed an explicitly needed a Letter of Medical Necessity from my PCP. Was able to see her 2 days later, submit the letter the next day and was approved within a week. Hang in there!- Im ready

My nut set my goal at 78g/day. It is probably lower as I lose weight. MFP has me closer to half that but I ignore it. Some days I'm just shy - others I go over. Protein is impt for: a) healing 2) feeling full and c) most impt to me: it forces our bodies to burn stored fat vs muscle. W/o it the body will burn muscle before fat - I guess it is just more easily combustible.- JULY 2013 BAND BUDDIES
Just gave my dog a flea dip. I think it's safe to say my stomach is healing nicely- JULY 2013 BAND BUDDIES

From my own experience - it's good your manager knows. I was banded on the 11th and planned to return to work on the 15th and made it a few hours before being totally exhausted. I ended up taking most of last week off. My manager knew it would all be a little TBD and was very accommodating.- Helllloooooooooo ONEderland!!!
That is remarkable loss! Can I beg some details on your approach?- JULY 2013 BAND BUDDIES

Itching has always equaled healing in my book when it comes to cuts, etc.- What should i do after slimmed/vomit episode.
Sounds like the second episode was what I've seen called a PB - productive burp. Different from vomiting. I haven't had this happen yet, but going back to liquids for a couple days might be a good idea in case your band/esophagus is irritated.- Im ready
I just woke the dog up laughing out loud to this.- Im ready
Hahahahaha - I am so there! I have been trying to talk my hubs into it the last 3 days and he says he won't until next week because he is anxious about my stomach/incisions. He has until Monday.- Wear to and from the hospital?
Amen to slip on shoes! I also had my sister bring m a sports bra the day I had surgery. I'm pretty large chested and one of my breasts was pressing on an incision. The nurse said so long as the bra band didn't press on the incision it was fine to wear and was a life saver. I've worn a sports bra or soft cup bra every day since surgery (I'm 10 days post op) - can do underwire yet. - Getting frustrated
