I'm getting banded in late March or April. I'm almost ready, I have to cross a couple more things off my list. I'm new to this site, and I love it! I just don't have any friends! Will you be my friend, lol!! Add me!! Thanks!

Thanks everyone. I'm using these six months to begin changing my eatting habits. I'm trying to do more fresh meats, vegies, fruits and less processed crap. And I'm also trying to work on my emotional issues with food. I really am glad for the 6 months, I don't know if I would be "ready" if I could have gotten the band immediately.
That's the attitude!! Those eating habits are going to have to change anyway!! I'm two months out and I've only lost 4 lbs. I've been preparing myself mentally as well. You'll do great!! Just keep motivated! Surgery day will be here before you know it!

Who is your ins co? *if you don't mind my asking... I have UHC and they use Bariatric Resources Solutions. BRS assigned me an RN that takes me through the entire process. She told me that it has to be six consecutive months of SOME doctor- not necessarily the the same doctor- counselling me on my weight, and exercise. So I was able to use my GP, OB, even the first consult with my surgeon will count b/c he's going to be addressing my weight. When I see they psychiatrist I'll be able to get her to sign my little work sheet as well, so I'm not doing fifty appts in one month!! I've tried to space them out some, and when i did miss an appointment b/c of circumstances out of my control, I was able to use my sleep apnea consultation simply because she advised me that losing weight would help me with the sleep apnea, and encouraged me to walk walk walk!!
I hope this will help you!

Good luck!! I'm about two months away from my surgery! I could've had a lot more progress by now, but I didn't get the ball rolling soon enough! Don't miss any of the three weigh ins or you'll have to start all over... see if you can schedule your tests and psych evaluation during those three months that way when your three months is up you'll be set!! Best of luck!!
