  1. Tell me about the ricotta dish??
  2. Thats crazy... Fill you full of pills is not the answer. You are wanting surgery so you can loose weight and be accountable! The pill way is all too common and a temporary fix... Your trying for longterm and getting healthy, not pills!!
  3. Hey guys... I am pre also just because I will have a ton of vacation time off for work in June and dont want to rush back to work, so I want to research and prepare and like all of you, making the decision to do a major surgery is hard... especially going blind into picking a doctor whom we have never met or seen the facility. This website is fantastic, I love hearding all the post patient experiences, pictures and advice but that makes it even harder to choose because about 6 or so Dr names keep coming up over and over and who to choose...?? I was torn between Ortiz, Lopez and Garcia ... Im self pay cash, I have Care Credit but only a 10,000.00 limit and in the USA, that wont buy this surgery, hence my going to Mexico in June! (Will save the Carecredit to address loose skin later ) My husband works for Florida Hospital and has spoken thru his work with several gastrointestinal drs on my behalf casually at work... My concern was complications... They suggested Dr. Kim in Florida (by Disney), whom they gave rave reviews about or Dr Alvarez or Dr Ortiz. They also said the majority or the complications they see from post surgery is about 3,4,5 months after surgery and mainly people who try to go back to regular food too quick, the wrong food or improper/inadequate Vitamins and dehydration... Just FYI... I am in your boat.... Ready to set sail!!
  4. Hey... Glad your doing well... Which Dr Ortiz and what sote did you go thru?? Oh...Hydrate!!
  5. I think because we have all commited to such a HUGE decision, we really want to see it thru the right way and be as prepared and informed as possible, so we meet here in a common bond!! I wish us all luck and I think our obsession isn't on eating food anymore and now our focus is on making things better and healthier and what a good, positive feeling!!
  6. You look amazing! Keep up the good work!!
  7. Thats fantastic!! I look forward to hearing about your updates!! I will be sleeved soon... Matter of saving up sick time!! Deposit paid... Just waiting
  8. 1. I will not miss walking out of a room backwards so people do not see the "broad side of a barn" butt or not undressing in front of anyone, including my husband with the light on 2. I will not miss people telling me I have such a pretty face and knowing they mean that if I was thin, it would all look good all over 3. I will not miss not being able to swing on a swing set or a slide with my kids 4. I will not miss the instant insecurity I get when people make comments about what I eating especially when its a small piece of cake or tiny dish of ice cream... The constant critisism and they dont even need to say a word, just by the eye gestures 5. I will not miss the helpless "fat-girl" down on myself behavior the world sometimes can impose on me.... When I know what a great, secure person I know I am!
  9. Hey guys... So glad everyone is getting heathier and moving forward... I pray the best for all!! Your stories are such a shame when I am sure this was something you were looking so forward to having done!! Questions... Where did your surgeries take place?? States side or foreign? Any of you guys have the same dr?? Just wondering if its totally random or .... Thanks
  10. I am in the Orlando area and getting sleeved in Mexico due to the not wanting to deal with the insurance hoops and the cost here in the states for self pay. I have heard Dr. Kim at Celebration, Fl is amazing but he is really expensive. For those getting sleeved here in FL, what is it costing you if you are self pay, out of curiosity?
