  1. OMG. I feel a TOTAL mess. Nothing is ready I started taking Vitamin k today but barely remembered. Just feel disorganized. My work has been extremely strenuous lately and I just haven't had any time to think about my upcoming surgery. (Kinda good because I'm not focusing on the worries). I just feel scatterbrained.
  2. Oh cool are you nervous?
  3. Hey I'm 32 years old 5'6.5" 241 lbs. BMI 38.5 (was higher but lost on three month diet) Anyone in January close to my size?
  4. I'm freaking out thinking I won't chew good enough and I will puncture something. I can have soft foods starting at 3 weeks post op. I'm just nervous.
  5. Ok my surgery is Jan 10. My doctor has me on liquid diet with one meal daily. I've been trying to "practice" eating smaller bites, eating slowly and chewing like crazy. My problem is I have trouble chewing enough. It just automatically starts going down my throat. I mean I know it's gross but I catch myself letting whole chunks go down and I'm trying to use my throat muscles to pull it back up and chew more lol. I'm laughing just typing this but I can't help it. Seriously I'm worried that I won't be able to chew enough after surgery Anyone else have this problem or am I just a weirdo??? I've read on lots of forums and haven't seen anyone else talk about it.
  6. I have no clue what that means but I saw a couple of threads you've started and figured you are probably desperate for answers. I'm sorry I can't help. Did you try to google it?
  7. Yes I'm having bypass. I hope the nervousness ends soon.
  8. I'm having surgery at Forest Park Medical Center in Dallas by Dr James Davidson on Jan 10.
  9. Hi Nancy. I haven't told anyone either. My surgery is Jan 10 and my work people know I'm having stomach surgery but no details. I work with a lot if mean spirited people and my boss would not be happy with me putting our department in a bind for an "elective" surgery. Good luck to you and God bless.
  10. My surgery is Jan 10. I am nervous too. Maybe we can encourage each other.
  11. I will be having surgery in Dallas, Texas at 7:30 am. I'm excited but super nervous.
  12. What made you change your mind? I have bad acid reflux and I was afraid it will get worse with the sleeve. I was also worried about not losing enough or gaining it back. The sleeve is new and the data isn't available like it is for the bypass. Are you nervous? Where are you? What time is your surgery? I will be thinking of you.
  13. I know you were asking bakawaka but surgeon probably asked because of the dumping. Bypass causes dumping with sweets fats and baked goods. As unpleasant as dumping is the hope is it will deter you from eating those things.
  14. This is exactly what happened to me. I have been planning for sleeve since September. I got my insurance approval couple weeks ago and Monday I changed my mind to RNY. My surgery is Jan 10 and I am soooo nervous but I am happy with my decision.
  15. I am scheduled for January 10. I am sooooo nervous.
  16. My surgeon has a huge NO JELLO in my first three weeks. My surgery date is jan 10
  17. BCBS Federal is awesome. My paperwork was submitted on Tuesday and they called my doctor with my approval Wednesday.
  18. Low iron can make you bruise easily. Make sure you get your vitamins daily.
  19. Well congrats to you I am excited For both of us!!!
  20. This thread is freaking hilarious!!!!
  21. BCBS Federal is awesome. I have it too and was super worried but I was approved and surgery is scheduled for Jan 10. When are you having surgery?
  22. @elektrik- thank you for the long post. I appreciated knowing I can come here to talk or vent. I am just so worried nothing will change. I have list weight many times without the tool but when I get stressed I EAT my weight back up. I want to address it now before I sabotage myself. My husband is selfish. He doesn't say anything negative per say about the surgery except that he would never do it. He is about 80-90 lbs overweight. He doesn't support me either though. He just says whatever you want to do. Work is a bunch of drama and I couldn't even tell them what surgery I was having because my boss would have treated me differently. When I told him I have an ulcer he even said "I just wanted to be sure it wasn't voluntary surgery". I work for a large corporation and technically he wasn't even supposed to be asking me anything but he did. Most of the time he is a pretty good boss though. I work with too many other women and women can be so mean and troublemakerish. My kids are awesome but they need me and I worry about them. I grew up with a mother that was 300+ lbs and my dad always had a big issue with her weight. I think that's why I feel so low about myself when I'm heavy like no one would ever want someone as fat as me. I just want to deal with all this.
