  1. To those asking I was banded on Jan. 2nd and feel great. I am 3 weeks out tomorrow n felt back to normal on day 7. I had a huge appetite on that day n thank God the doc okayed me for blended food cause the protein was a big help. He told me on that day to start exercising n to drink lots of water. I have not got a fill yet n have been eating about 1 cup of food 3-4 Times a day. I feel pretty satisfied for the most part. Just been trying to learn to eat between 20-30 min.
  2. Thanks for the responses. I used to take hard boiled eggs to work before to get me through till lunch. Any one have problems with that. I can't see myself being able sit n have a 30 min. Breakfast on . A ten min. Break.
  3. I don't go back to work for another 4 weeks but am wondering who out there has ideas on eating breakfast before work or during work. I start work at 5am n I go to lunch at 10:00 a.m. I have a 10 min break in between but I don't want to wait until 10 to eat breakfast. I would normally get hungry at about 7 am.
  4. I week liquid 1 week mushy 1 week soft I'm on my 3rd week now but I'm gonna call my doc to see if week 4 I can go to solid although I have read up to six weeks on post op diets.
  5. Wow that is great. My kids have been wanting to go to a buffet n I keep saying no cause I don't wanna pay 12 bucks for myself n only eat soup. I didn't know we could eat at child price either. The memories we have from eating at buffets. I would eat till my tummy ached. I hated that feeling
  6. Congratulations to all us January bandsters!!! Good luck to all our future weight loss journey. Down 23lbs n counting.
  7. My doc told me I could take up to six weeks so I said sweeeeeet n took total advantage of it. 4 more weeks to go!!!
  8. My parents also made me overeat. I would have to finish the food on my plate. I don't know why I didn't follow that same example on my kids but I'm glad I didn't. My kids are pretty healthy n not picky eaters. They will eat healthy as long as I cook healthy. As a matter of fact I have a 20 year old 5'1 daughter who is vegan n weighs 106. Good for her.
  9. My doc told me with the band the weight loss would b slow. Like being on a diet. My psychologist told me to start a to do box n every time I felt like eating out of boredom to pull out something to do instead. Keep your portions small as suggested by your doc or nut n include lots of protein.
  10. Love the success stories on this thread n thanks for starting it. I'm 2 weeks post op n down 20 lbs. 90 more to go. To a brand New me in 2013. Can't wait to see what this year has in store for me!!
  11. I know what you mean. Congrats on your weight loss
  12. Have lots of protein. Follow your docs orders but I was allowed stuff like nonfat plain yogurt, protein shakes, cream of wheat, non fat milk, sugar free pudding, n non fat powder milk for the added protein, to enrich your milk. I didn't really have an appetite till day 6 post op n felt really hungry on day 7. Day 7 I saw my doc n he allowed me to have blended foods. He said mostly protein, lots of water, n start exercise. The blended protein has been great for me n has kept me satisfied. I just have trouble with recipes n trying to figure out what to blend with my chicken, Turkey, n fish with. No red meat for me yet.
  13. I do feel satisfied tho. I'm not getting full but I know that I should not get full. I know I could eat more but haven't tried cause I wanna stick to the 1 cup. I would eat a whole cup of rice n everything else to go with it before so I know more fits or maybe not since the band. I'm not about to try tho. Lol
  14. Just curious, aren't we supposed to b on a liquid diet 1-2 days after any fill? I haven't had any fills yet so am wondering.
