I'm SO happy I did this. Look at my fitness pal graph that displays weight loss in the last 30 days! Who wouldn't love this?

britt, I lost 100+ lbs. I am actually currently recovering from my cosmetic surgery (the last phase of my journey). I would guesstimate 100 lbs in 1 year as long as you are consistent and follow the rules
Definitely worth every dollar. This is not like anything you've done before (aka weight watcher memberships, pills, expensive delivery meals etc) where it was just a loss of your investment.
I wish you all the luck. If you have specific q's, please feel free to email

Yes!!!!! I had a mini sip of sprite last night. Holy crap, sugar overload and that carbonation was almost disgusting. Thank god I didn't take a real sip lol!

Wow, that is awesome! Congratulations on everything -- an inspiration for me as I count down to 11/5. Can't wait to be a month out......coming soonish. I figure by the New Year I will have been banded almost two months and I'll be on my way. 2014 is going to be quite a year. Best wishes to you for continued success -- you are doing beautifully!

I am an unconventional mom that makes three separate dinners. One for me, one for my daughter who is super picky, and one for my husband and son to share. It just works for us. My kids are both underweight so I do let them eat things like Nutella sandwiches and poptarts, but also try and model a healthy lifestyle for them too. It's a hard balance that's for sure.
Also, I felt deprived growing up because I was the only overweight person in my family so I would have to have my brother ask for chips when I wanted some. Because of that I developed what I call entitlement eating. I gained weight because once I was on my own I felt I was entitled to eat whatever I want, and I suffered the consequences. Because of that I want my kids to have a normal assortment of Snacks in the house to be eaten in moderation so when I am not there they aren't trying to scarf Cookies behind my back.
I'm sure you are doing a fine job with both you and your kids.
Good luck =)

LapbandLo got a reaction from southernqt in Up to 4 miles :)
I LOVE walking. The days after surgery getting around the block was tough but now I'm up to 2-4 miles a day. I've lost weight every week too so far and this is the time people said I would stall!

I've noticed I'm satisfied for at least 4 hours between meals and once I get a hunger twinge it's time for the next meal. It's so cool listening to my body! I haven't had a fill yet, and at this rate if I'm losing consistently and staying satisfied I may not get one. I'm under 1,000 calories a day, between 60-80 grams of Protein, and at lest 8 glasses of Water sometimes more. I'm so happy I did this! By the way, today is my ONE MONTH surgiversary!
