  1. I thought it was a fatty liver. Not surrounding. Along the lines of feeding ducks a certain diet so their livers are fatter to make pâté. And can it be checked with blood tests?
  2. It doesn't sound like you are following post op guidelines given by your doctor. I would be really surprised you are allowed solid foods before day 10. Right now is time for healing after surgery. Why do something to possibly harm that process? Please review your post op rules and stick to them. I'm recently banded so I hope some of the veterans will be along shortly to direct you to links that properly explain life with the band.
  3. How long does it take a solid form of Protein (like meat) to pass though and therefore how much can you absorb? Thanks
  4. I hadn't really thought about this... I named my lil roomba vacuum Pierre cuz I wanted a French maid. Lol. Guess I'll have to research famous chef names as my band does tell me what I'll be eating.
  5. The cream really helped me. Four tbs is 200 calories. I would heat my broth and then add it and whisk to incorporate it.
  6. What stage are you at? Knowing that will help. If still on liquids, I actually added whipping cream to broth a few times to get in some calories. Just make sure dairy is allowed. My doctor wasn't strict as compared to some.
  7. Meeting today :-)
  8. Meeting today (Bumping this up)
  9. I like the chicken flavor mixed in with French onion soup. As for the cheese sauce, I find if I eat it with a strong flavored veggie (broccoli or brussel sprouts) then I don't mind the flavor.
  10. Does it sync up with myfitnesspal?
  11. Start with fully defrosted fish and google cooking times based on thickness. Also online should give some hints for cooking on it. I used one years ago but don't remember details. I did just grill some tilapia last week and it was thin so about four minutes on each side. I think it would be less using GF grill.
  12. Maybe post info to the old thread in DFW groups. And also the one that had Irving in the title? I'm on my phone tonight. If I use laptop this weekend I'll try to repost the info.
  13. I'm more than five weeks out and have middle back pain. I keep thinking it's gas but I'm having it often enough that in calling doctor on Monday. If its something other than gas, I'll post. Good luck to you in finding relief.
  14. I use them. They're chewable but they are bigger than a dime. I haven't actually compared the %daily value to any other brands. I just happened to buy them when getting their protein shake mix.
  15. Sounds don't always mean hunger. In the early days get your water and protein in and follow your doctor's instructions. If you truly are hungry call doctor for guidance.
  16. Mine waits 60 days until first fill. So not unheard of to wait that long.
  17. As for the swelling remember to drink your water. For all other matters, call your doctor(s) for guidance. Hope it goes well for you!
  18. Sounds good and shouldn't be too much traffic either.
  19. I would lose my mind if I had to have a shake every day. I have a hard time drinking anything even remotely thick. I almost always get in 70g of protein a day and I'm newly banded and still learning. Once you start eating solids you might track your protein and show your doctor you are getting enough and get relief from the daily shake.
  20. Hey RN I googled coffee shops on Collins and didn't find one. There's are some on Matlock though, did you mean one of those?
  21. Try counting calories for a few days. Not only did my doctor limit the amount of food he also gave me a calorie limit. This might give you a better idea of what your body is doing. Then you can tell if your calories are too low for the amount of exercise you're doing.
  22. Same total amount of food allowed per day. You just get to eat more often. Are you getting your water in? That seems to really help me with hunger.
  23. Maddysgram Can you come to my house and clean?? Please?? :-)
  24. Chapstick and see if you can get your prescriptions filled before surgery. And a pillow to hold to yourself - car ride home, coughing, etc.
  25. I was allowed solids on day 10 but I know many others stay on liquids for quite awhile. But it's still best to follow your doctors directions.
