  1. Hey, I was banded in November and I feel you I am eating more than a cup of food but I am REALLY trying not to its so hard. I have lost 35 pounds so far but that has been will power I am not feeling the band doing its job yet but I know that will come soon as I am very close. With each fill I am feeling a little difference. I have 6ml in a 10ml band and I work out 5 days a week. I have not been sick or PB'ed yet I am surprised you have been throwing up...was it just too big a bite? Good luck with your journey. We can do this!
  2. Me! There is a good uk site gastric surgery friends . Any questions just ask!
  3. Who cares! I used to drink vodka, lime and soda when I was always dieting......... and some friends in CA do it and I thought I would give it a go. In some weird way I think it hydrates you while you drink a win win You just need lots of lime wedges but it is lovely with orange too....
  4. I know it sounds lame but I drink vodka (one of the lowest cal spirits) and water with lots of ice and LOTS fresh squeezed lime or lemon. It is low cal and band friendly no high cal juice or carbonation.....
  5. I have the white polar ft40 love it!!!
  6. Awesome!! I am working on the C25K running is tough! Go with the heart rate calorie burn it is more accurate
  7. ohhhhhh you guys are making me excited to get there.....I am soooo close but just not quite there Thanks for your great posts B52 about the green zone!
  8. That must be an amazing feeling!!!! Yay!!!
  9. Me too! The bug really gets you I went spinning today too and with my other workouts burned over 1000 calories at the gym. It sets me up for a healthy day.
  10. You know what I found when I started to workout 4 years ago? The more I did it the more liked it! The fitter I got the faster I ran and I felt proud! That feeling I can carry with me though the week. Start slow and commit to say three sessions a week and build from there you will hate it and moan and complain and hurt but just keep it up and every month add a session it does get easier and more fun. I just came back from a gym session where I ran, spinned and did yoga and I feel AMAZING! When I first started I was so embarrassed to be the youngest in the room but the fattest AND the slowest. It gets better
  11. .....but you need a heart rate monitor to track calories burned. Most site/machines are wwwaaaay off. I am do Zumba 400 spin 500 for example......
  12. I understand the question - and it is a good one. How does the band help you on your journey, not will power, right food choices or excersise which are all choices we make personally to help us to goal. Ask me in a few fills . I still feel like I am making the right decisions though will power right now! I appreciate the question and all the responses!
  13. Keep it up - I LOVE me some spin
  14. Pure Protien - I like the Chocolate Peanut Butter. It has 20g of protien and 194 calories. I old eat them when I am on the run and dont have time to sit and eat real food but they taste good
  15. I agree with the post on whole thank you for the reminder. As a newbie and also pre-band I read everything possible on this board. I find different people give different advice and I like that. I am like a sponge soaking it ALL in but I am smart enough to make decisions for my own body. I like to hear other people experiences it helps me to formulate my experience. A lot of people reply to a lot of posts to ask your doctor or NUT and I agree that should be the first port of call but reading other peoples experience of getting to the green zone or how much protein they eat helps me to figure out the questions to ask…..
  16. My doctor said 6 weeks - I went back to spin, yoga, running and kickboxing type classes. Feeling really good! Did a full backbend in yoga today worried the band would pop off but I feel fine! I did check with my doc about yoga and he gave me the all clear
  17. Can you explain how you feel differant? I think I am there just wondering how you feel! Thanks
  18. Hi, I have read some people experiance this! I workout hard most days - running/spinning and have never noticed so far and I am at 6cc in a 10ml band.... Good luck!
  19. Just got my second fill this week to 6cc and I feel a differance! Hang in there I was thinking the same way as you four days ago...... hoping it lasts!
  20. That happened to me and then it started to open - I had an infection. Call your doctor and check. I took some antibiotics and then I was fine don’t worry. More annoying as it delayed healing..
  21. hey I am in England - check out a site http://www.gastricsurgeryfriends.com/ mostly banders from the UK they are a nice bunch x
  22. CHEZNOEL, I agree to stay away from a liquid diet that is not why we had the band and not how it works and try and always head towards solid protein however you are able to get real nutrients from real vegetables rather than taking too many supplements. As B-52 said I will have a freshly squeezed veggie juice as a snack some days not as a meal replacement....
  23. Starbaby I totally hear you! Right now it feels like I am on a diet. I don't even feel like I have a band. I had about 100pounds to lose and I am 25 down but using willpower alone. I think Christmas and a two week holiday over New Year threw me off track a little but I have my fingers and toes crossed that when I have a fill next week it will help to get me closer to the Green Zone and like Shellee said help it not to feel so like a diet....
  24. I love to juice. Mainly vegetables to help me get in some nutrients and keep it low calorie. I like the Jason Vale juice book. I just had carrot, broccoli, celery, beet, and spinach and apple juice. If you add one type of fruit it overrides the bitterness in the greens. I actually like it. Good luck!
