    First Fill

About 6 weeks ago I had my first fill, 2 weeks ago had my 2nd fill. I was nervous like you. But honestly, it's nothing. I don't look at the nurse or needle or anything to do with the fill cause I hate needles and anything to do with them, so if I can say it was no big deal, then trust me that it was no big deal. A prick of a needle, fill, bingo bango bongo, you're done, you'll have to drink water while there to make sure there are no swallowing issues. You'll be fine. Best of luck !

That is good news! Btw, did you get snowfall you expected?
  5. Hi there, if you go to Special Interest Group forum you'll see a sub-forum labelled Diabetics. I'm thinking there could be lots of info there that might help you? Everyone seems to be very helpful on all forums. I would like to wish you the very best on your lapband journey!

    had surgery Tuesday

Yes, totally normal. Shoulder pain gets better, but don't be surprised to still feel some shoulder pain for awhile. It gets less and less but sometimes hangs in for a bit. Tylenol works great.

    Nervous rant

Frederic, how you doing now? I can understand how upset you must feel. It's exciting and also nerve racking to know you're so close to having surgery, you prepare your mind for it....and then to have it postponed (maybe). Perhaps mother nature will be kind to you. Would there be any hotels close to the hospital that you can stay in the night before and the night of? I hope it works out for you, will be keeping my fingers crossed.

    Shoulder pain after eating ?

Yup, was a lot more severe at beginning, much better now (3months banded). It's my sign that I should put my fork down.

    just waking up

I can feel your excitement, I remember feeling that way as well. I'm settling in to making wise food choices and I now think every day is the best day of my life. I'm a happy girl! Congrats and hope your recovery is quick. Once you get the next few days under your belt you'll be on your way to a wonderful and healthy life. Keep the faith!

    It Just Stopped!

I never ever weigh myself anymore. The scales ruled my life for far too long and ruled how I felt that day. A pound down, smile. A pound up, get outta my way. I now go by how my clothes feel on me and have had to box up clothes every few weeks. That's good enough for me. I only get weighed when I go for my monthly check up at wls office.

    Trouble Recovering

I had my lapband surgery nov 2012..but two weeks previous to that I had a very bad gall bladder attack, was on meds for a week. They thought it would delay my lap band procedure, which I definately did not want to do. Anyways, lap band was a go, am now scheduled to have gall bladder out march 5th. Same dr for lap band will be doing my gall bladder operation. Not looking forward to those gas pains again, but oh we'll, I'll get through it.

    Slimtime

Right, right..I remember a conversation earlier about is. Well, have no fear. He's a great dr with a great staff. Day 2 and day 3 were my most uncomfortable but only because of restrictions the larger incision had on me. It was also right where the waistline on my pants sit. Operation was on wednesday, back at work on Monday. I had shoulder pain, heating pad worked. And also used GasX strips. I took the pain meds for a couple of days, helped in getting a good nights sleep. I just came back from Jamaica and left all my capris and bathing suits there. I've lost a total of 25lbs total and they no longer fit well. I know some people are losing like crazy at first, but I'm going to let my body lose as its meant to lose. No pressure. I'm sick of pressure relating to weight loss. Good luck, i'll be thinking of you on your surgery date, I wish you only the best...I know you'll do well.

    Slimtime

March 13, I can tell you not to worry, etc etc, but you will and it will probably feel so surreal when you're getting ready to go in for surgery. I couldn't believe I was doing this, such a drastic change when for years and years I was content to do nothing. My surgery was nov 28 2012 and it was the best thing I've ever done for me, just for me. I have another surgery coming up in a couple of weeks...gallbladder. My lapband dr is doing that surgery as well so I feel like i'm in good hands. I want to wish you the best of luck. Where are you having it done?

    Slimtime

It's ok. I have to be honest and tell you that I was having dry heaves on the 2nd or 3rd day. But what I did was add more water and add lots of ice. I had to have it good and cold...and funny enough I grew to like it.

    Slimtime

Vanilla. I ordered vanilla and chocolate. At least with vanilla you can add flavoring to change it. Hope I'm not too late. And best of luck! When are you being banded and where?
  17. Tiny1234

    Positive changes

Wow...you are BEAUTIFUL ! Way to go, you deserve the best things in life.
  18. So happy for you, and inspired. One day I'm going to be there too. Glad you shared.

    Burps...Burps...Burps

Kind of, sort of. I do notice I have to cover up more burps pro-band than pre-band. I'm not sure why. I burped and sneezed at the same time and everyone in the office thought I sounded like a rabid dog.

    Gallbladder surgery After lapband

I was banded in November, I'm scheduled for gall bladder surgery in another couple of weeks. Luckily my lapband surgeon is also doing my gall blader surgery. HOWEVER, I still remember the gas pain and being uncomfortable for a few days and not looking forward to that again, plus another 4 incisions. Some say it's worse than lapband surgery, some say not as bad. I'll keep it positive and hope, fingers crossed, that it's not worse. Best of luck to you, speedy recovery.

    Hiatal Hernia Diaphragm Pressure

Me also, hiatal hernia repair. Seems to be very common for us all. Thank god no more heartburn! Deep breaths, heating pad and making it through one more day. Yes, it really does get better.
