    post-op day one

Take your pain meds, and use a heating pad on your shoulder. Take deep breaths, I know it hurts but you have to just do it. Windmill your arms. Walk a bit. Keep sipping Iiquids. I promise you it will get better.

    Negativity at work

I gotta agree with Jackie.. Just keep the faith and stay on your path. I would say she's a little green with envy, so consider the source, hold your head up and just carry on. You'll show her.
  3. I've seen those calcium chews at Walmart (Ontario Canada), so I don't think you'll have any problems finding them. Wait, you were wondering if you can take them? They're chewable so I think you'd be ok, just make sure you've chewed the bejesus out of them before you swallow.

Self Sabotage after a loved ones death

Losing a loved one is so tough, so emotionally draining. My heart goes out to everyone who has and will go through this. I guess we all grieve in different ways, sometimes we don't grieve for months after our loss. What can I say to make things better, to make things right, probably nothing but I do feel for you. Please don't forget about yourself, remember your journey that brought you so far and how successful you were and how proud everyone is of you. We mourn their loss but I believe they are in a better place, without pain and at peace. Don't give up, don't give in...you have an awful lot of family right here to help you along the way.

    Gallbladder issues

Summerrain, my symptoms were just like yours. It hurt to breath, it took my breath away. I had to have 2 different types of antibiotics but that did the trick in regards to my pain (gallbladder was diseased) and I had my gallbladder removed about a month ago. There was 1 large stone causing all that grief. Surgery was a breeze, glad it's all over with. Your gallbladder is attached to your liver, that's normal, I actually watched the operation on you tube, easy peasy...at least for the dr.

    I hate fish...

I'm on my way to Costco...
  9. Chopsticks? What an excellent idea! I'll be all thumbs but this will be a fun way to learn how to use chopsticks as well as having to take smaller bites, which is the hardest thing I've had to learn with the lapband.

    What a Downer.......

Of course they can, but when the same questions are being asked time after time after time and like someone said above, that same question might have already been asked within a few hours of it being asked again, it gets a little redundant. The search engine is a great way to get all the info you might need, and you'll most likely find that the question has been asked a few times already and in a few different ways. There's so much info on this site that is readily available via search, it will save you time in the long run.

    Slow and slothlike

It's like a vicious circle, eh? New day tomorrow, Summer's on it's way, Canada day will be here before you know it and won't you be happy that you got things sorted out and got back on track. 2-1/2 months...we can do it!

    doctors note

I took 3 days of vacation, told my coworkers zip, zero, nada. If you don't want anyone to know then don't tell anyone otherwise they'll tell 2 friends and so on and so on and so on. Your boss/ human resources can get themselves into a hot mess if they share your medical history with anyone. Maybe some people feel comfortable getting it all out to those at work, but not me. This is all about me and I wanted to keep it that way.

    Had surgery today

I was wondering how you were making out, see, it wasn't so bad..jk. Remember your pain meds, remember your GasX, remember to walk, remember to sip sip, sip, and remember that each day will get better. Oh, wait, day 3 might be a kicker but you'll get through that. Stay warm, enjoy some tv and let others do for you for the next little bit. Just concentrate on you. Take care !

    Fills and Restriction?

I so want that feeling. Maybe next fill, maybe not. One thing I do notice is that I don't think about food ...until the evening. Thats when It kind of hits me. That's when I go to bed and read.

    Spicy food

I have to agree with catfish. I was re-reading my band info and it mentions that food only stays in the pouch a few minutes before making its way through the band. It doesn't store or breakdown food there. That's what the acids in your stomach do.

    Spicy food

I have a love/hate relationship with spicey food so I leave it alone. Spicey in...Spicey out.

    not quite a (happy) success

I think this is why it's so important to look after ourselves first..it gives us the opportunity and the chance to help others next and who's more important than your own family? Well done, you've worked hard, kept your eye on the prize and helped so many others with your words and advise along the way. No doubt your husband appreciates you, especially right now.

    T'was the night before surgery......

Best of luck, but you won't need it. It will be smooth sailing, just remember to take your pain meds and you'll be fine. This time tomorrow you might be wondering what the heck you've done to yourself (very common feeling),, but by this time next week you'll know what the heck you've done and will be on your way. Keep the faith, see you on the other side!

I finally did it. I've lost 200 pounds

Way to go! You must feel amazing, like a new person. I imagine the energy you've picked up along the way has been a huge bonus as well. Speedy recovery, hope you're home soon. You're a real inspiration. I'm not a food logger, I really struggle with that part of the whole thing. You've proven that it works so I'm going to make an honest attempt to get my sh*t together, get organized and start logging. Thanks for your post(s)!

    Blender Suggestions Needed

Nutri bullet...almost like magic bullet but has bigger motor and can break down anything you put in it. I make green smoothies that taste amazing. 2 handfuls of baby spinach, frozen mangoes, water, protein powder, some berries, ..very good. U can add seeds nuts etc.
