Hey guys! We are doing a great support group on 11/15/11. Marquis Walker, a former Detroit Lion and currently a physical trainer, is coming to speak to our group. He has found a way to do a workout that will work you out, but not completely wear you out! He had me doing a work out in the middle of Starbucks and no one knew! It was amazing! Anyway, he lives in the Arlington/Ft Worth area, but will come to you if you have a small group (I think 4+). He is very inexpensive too. Anyway, the support group is TLCEdge. It is free and I am just trying to get the word out. I really was shocked at his theory and the way he goes about things. A total new take on health and weight loss. Please feel free to come. All weight loss surgery patients are invited as well as their loved ones. 11.15.11 6pm Texas Clinic Surgery Center 6957 Plano Parkway Suite 2000 Plano TX 75093 Ph: 972-820-9033 Cynthia

Glad I could help. The band was the best thing that ever happened to me and I think everyone should have one. Keep us posted on your progress. Where are you located and who is your new surgeon? Cynthia
-
I believe they do. Remember, each insurance is different for each company. I would go to www.lap-band.com and find a surgeon locator. The surgeon's office should be able to tell you what your insurance can do! Cynthia

Wonderful! Keep up the good work! Cynthia

How about the Arlington dinner on May 20th at the Mercado Juarez off Ave J at 630pm? Cynthia
-
I was an FDA trial patient and had my surgery 5 years ago in New Orleans. But I now have a Dallas surgeon who tracks me as I don't need to go back to New Orleans again. Who was your surgeon? Cynthia

Hey George, It is Cynthia in Dallas! Are you going to come to the dinner on May 13th? Mercado Juarez at 630pm on Northwest Highway! Hope to see you soon! Cynthia

BANDLANDIA APPLAUDS LAP-BAND REIMBURSEMENT APPROVAL BY BLUE CROSS / BLUE SHIELD Cynthia Jones, founder of Dallas-based Bandlandia, Inc. (www.Bandlandia.com) said today, “We are extremely pleased that Blue Cross / Blue Shield has approved Lap Band surgery for its patients. The lap band procedure is the least invasive and safest of all weight loss surgery options and we have been working towards this day for quite a long time. The Lap Band will save many lives among the Blue Cross / Blue Shield patients.” Cynthia Jones, among the first U.S patients to have the lap band procedure, founded Bandlandia to offer after care options for those who have had the surgery. Blue Cross / Blue Shield has approved the lap band procedure for the more than 6.8 million patients in Texas, Illinois and New Mexico. Blue Cross / Blue Shield will now provide medical coverage and reimbursements for implantation of the Lap Band System for the treatment of morbid obesity. Inamed’s Lap Band System provides a life=saving option for the morbidly obese that is safer, less invasive and as effective in weight loss resolution or improvement of obesity-related health conditions as gastric bypass surgery.

Elizabeth, good for you! Hard to find the happy medium in weighing, but once you do...stick with it! Cynthia

I want to make a statement on the scale. Please I beg of people, DON'T weigh yourself everyday! It will only drive you nuts and lead you to self sabotage! Once a week, same day, same time. Our weight fluctuates during the week. I fyou weigh too often, you will think you are a failure as throughout the day, your weight may go up and down. Divorce the scale! It is NOT your friend. At one time during my weight loss, I would go weigh after every meal, every bathroom visit, every drink. It was awful! Throughout the day, I would have millions of ups and downs...way too dramatic. I don't want anyone to go through that. So, promise me that you will have a healthy attitude over this and weigh ONLY 1 time a week. If not, I might have to come kidnap your scale. Don't think I won't do it, because I will! Cynthia

Hey Melissa! found you here too! Cynthia

Well, everyone reacts to surgery differently. I would look for another surgeon...Thigh lifts are tricky. Make sure you have a surgeon who is good at that. Do your homework... Cynthia

Swelling can last up to 6 months. Usually after a month or 2 you will get an idea on what you will look like. It's a patience game. I would take a week off for a tummy tuck...What are you thinking of having done? Cynthia

Angela, Congrats on the weight loss! Wonderful! As for the plastic surgery...I would consult a plastic surgeon. Let him tell you whether your skin is going to snap back more or not. If not, go and get your surgery! Take it from me...it isn't that painful. I mean it hurts...heck it is surgery, but not so bad as some people make it out to be. Let me know what happens! Cynthia

About 2 years ago, the newspaper did a story on me and at that time, I gave up all privacy issues. People who I went to highschool with called me. Very freaky. Now when I do the radio commercials, every once in awhile I hear from someone I haven't heard from in years or wierder still, I will be in a store and someone will hear my voice and ask me if I am that cynthia. Kinda freaky at first, but I am used to it. Don't blame you for protecting your privacy, I tell people that if you want to tell, great, if not...it is your business! Hang in there! Cynthia
