bandedsandi got a reaction from cflick in 5 year banister & I'm so lost!!
Why don't you go back to your meals one month post op, just to get yourself stabilized again? I found that very helpful whenever I reached a plateau. But I'd say you should get a small fill again, and just be very careful with what you eat - eliminating whatever is causing the reflux...? Wishing you all the best!

I'm right there with you! Surgery is on the 18th, taking the rest of the week off after that + our Christmas break … I work w/ high risk youths … breaking up fights is most likely not a good post-op idea! LOL!

I'm still very new at this but I average about 900-1000 cals per day and it tells me the same thing. I checked out weight watchers to see how many calories I would normally consume with their program like I had in the past and I was around 1800, which is obviously way too much for a bariatric program. However, I wasn't moving at that calorie range so I find when I step up my calorie intake to just above 1200 it helps me lose weight more. Maybe you should try upping your calories one or two days per week to give your metabolism a little shake up. Just make sure you're eating good foods for the extra calories. Good luck!

ignore that message because your diet isnt based on that calorie. Its still good to track, I eat between 600-900n usually and i get same message on sparkpeople which is what I use to track. Anyway my doctor tells us not to track calories just to measure my food.< /p>

I get that message almost daily. As long as I am eating balanced, I'm not worried about it. I average about 1050-1100 calories, some days 975, some days 1200. I have been at a plateau for almost 2 weeks, but now seem to be moving again. No clue what started or stopped it! It does seem to make a little bit of difference what my extra calories are though...if those higher calories are mashed potatoes or chocolate or wine, I will gain. If the extra calories are Proteins or veggies, I will maintain or lose. (this is very early in my journey, so I have no idea if this will remain true, but it seems right instinctively.)

I ate 1000 calories a day for 22 months and didn't starve. At my first appointment my NUT said 1500 was the number I should be at. I thought that was too high for my personal situation so discussed it with my dr and he said I just couldn't go below 1000. I do also take a Gummy Vitamin.
I am healthy, have no Vitamin deficiency and have lost in a reasonable amout of time. On my calorie tracker it said 1800 was my number.... Which is crazy but you can manually adjust it on your tracker.

I just laugh it off every day when I get that message! I am truly in no danger of starving myself when I eat 1200 calories per day. Just remember, MFP isn't a WLS specific site so it doesn't understand our unique needs.
Hang in there though. Not sure where you are in your journey, but you may just be hitting a plateau, not unheard of.

Don't be embarrassed. Think of how many things in your life you were unable to do on your own...Consider the band the training wheels on your bicycles. Before the training wheels you would wobble and fall over and over again. Just couldn't get your balance. The training wheels are on now. They have to be tweeked while you are learning. The band is helping you permanently change your physical and emotional health. We all need help sometimes.
It's refreshing that you are strong enough to admit you can't do it on your own. Together you and your band will meet your goals. Best wishes to you.

You are still in the healing phase and focus should be on healing not weightloss. Your body is probably in starvation mode and is holding onto everything you put in it because it is unsure if you are going to feed it again. Give it time. My surgery was Sept 17th - I lost 10lbs in my first week post op and then from Sept Sept 24th until Oct 24th lost 3 lbs and 3 inches on my waist and 1 on my hips. Now that I am eating regular foods and have started back to the gym, hope to see at least another 3 by my next fill. I am not close to restriction with my band, so this is pure diet and exercise on my part, this is the hard part.

I've been banded since Dec2010. This has happened to me more than once & I discussed with Bariatrics Nurse & she advised me to increase my Protein. It worked for me. Sometimes you starve your body thinking its the right thing, but that's not always right. Talk to someone in the Provider's office that did the procedure. Also stay off the scale. Inches matter. I weigh myself once per week. Don't get stuck on numbers. Good luck

I am with you on this sandi. My scale hasn't moved either and I haven't eaten past 1200 cals. I got banded a day before you. I did read it was normal to be at a stand still for a couple weeks. I am on solids as per my doc when I went for my first appt, I pretty much skipped the mushie stage, was on it for about a day but as soon as I started to eat, I didn't lose. Just don't give up.. I few times I've wanted to mess up here and there but choose not to.
also.. look in food/nutrition area, and find Carb cycling. quit a few are trying it out and seems to be working great! I am starting this tomorrow!

Still on the same plateau - will I ever break through?!?! Starting to wonder if the scale isn't stuck....
    Banded on 23/10.
If I eat any less, I might as well stop eating all together! I'm on MyFittnessPal.com and I log in religiously every day. I'm below 1200 calories every day. I'm still on mushies and I drink at least 3litres Water every day. I haven't been back to the gym, as per dr's orders, but I walk to and from school every day, at a fast, brisk pace (20mins). I do not take the lift, but climb stairs wherever I go.
Still, no change in the scale...
What am I doing wrong??? Please HELP!

Today I had a very bad morning and normally I would've gone to a restaurant and eaten some comfort food but instead I went to the gym. I have never felt so good! I also did 4km on the elliptical in 35 mins which is a new record for me!!

You have to drink a LOT of water! Remember, urinating is one of only three ways your body can expell the fat... So the more you drink Water, the quicker the scale will start moving! All the best!

    Hello everyone,
I was banded on 10/12 and I am down 66 pounds so far. 20 were on my own between my first visit with the surgeon in July to the beginning of the pre-surg diet and 25 were from the pre-surg diet so I'm down 21lbs in the month since my surgery.
Feeling terrific and was given permission to start exercising and swimming. Normally I'd have my first fill after 6 weeks but it falls on Thanksgiving. The surg said I could have it one week early. So happy about this since I am really starving each day but sticking to my soft food diet. Even did well with no power for 8 days due to Hurricane Sandy. Power's back and I'm feeling great!
I did have my first "got stuck feeling" this morning. I was eating scrambled eggs and working on the computer. I was not paying attention to how fast I was eating and all of a sudden I got this tight feeling in my chest.. not fun! Not eager for that to happen again so I know I need to be more careful.

You're not doing anything wrong. The average weight loss post surgery is 1-2 pounds a week. As you lose more, expect plateaus that last for weeks, not days.
You simply can't expect weight loss daily long term. It's very unrealistic.

You are still healing slowly. Some people will hit stops and no weight loss. Just keep steady on your foods and lots of Water. It will come and then you will start losing weight. Be patient.
