At present I am a household technician, meaning housewife. In the past, when you still used a pencil and an appt book I worked for 3 OB-GYN's. Also worked in Geriatrics. I went from new to old.
Now I'm old and retired. But not so old that I don't ride my own Harley & drive a fast car.lol My grandson thinks I'm the coolest!

@Maddysgram, I was banded Oct 18, we're almost on the same track! My husband and I had never ridden until I started this weight loss journey. Most of my calories (and time) were spent drinking beer and eating pizza! I was pretty much a sloth. So, my husband thought of a hobby that we both could do that didn't include drinking. We took Bike Class this past summer, and bought 2 cheap Sportsters to learn how to ride on. It has worked! Can't drink while riding, and we rode a lot! Got me ready for my surgery Just able to get back on it yesterday-boy, I felt skinny! haha

Rode my bike today for the first time in 4wks. It was really nice. I was flying high out there b/c my favorite black jean jacket that is all bejeweled fit today. I have about 10 brand new Harley shirts hub keeps getting me for Christmas and they never fit, no receipt. There about one size to fitting comfortable. They fit now, but I hate bulges.
So I was one happy Harley riding momma today!

I am not far enough along to let you know how I would feel but right now when I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror or a store window I see a very fat person even though I have lost 34 lbs. I also cannot get it through my head that I am 4 sizes smaller than I was at Christmas.

I spent Day 5 post-op in the ER absolutely positive something was wrong! I'd had gallbladder surgery a couple of years before and didn't feel anything like the weakness and shakiness I have from lb surgery!! Anyway, after a bunch of tests, they said I was fine and I went home. Felt better on Day 6. Day 7 was my first day back to work and I thought I was going to literally pass out more than a couple of times! Day 8 I was fine and haven't looked back since!!
All that to say, what you're going through, awful as it is, is perfectly normal. You WILL get better -- sooner, rather than later. Just hang tough!

For starters I'm a yr and 5 months divorced from being married to my high school sweetheart for 25 yrs. He totally broke my heart in '09 when he left me for another woman, yes she was skinny! And no I didn't have the surgery for that reason before you judge me. It's been a long hard 3 yrs of separation and divorce and being single at 46 is no fun. So I turned to food immediately. Instead of dropping weight I gained it. I ate my emotions away. How in the world did I let it get this far and bad and why is all I keep asking myself. I have never weighed as much in my life as much as I weighed on the day of my surgery. Every joint in my body hurt, it hurt to walk, bend, breathe, walk up stairs winded me, heck I couldn't do anything. I was eating and eating and eating like there was no tomorrow. I was huge! I bet he got the last laugh when he would see me out and about in our town and see how huge I was and still am. On a positive note, I made a decision to take back my life and have the surgery to save my life and get healthy. I've lost over 40 lbs since June 13th. It's been hard work and a battle of stuck episodes, boy let me tell ya, whew! Still learning to eat and chew. I hope to become a better me with a positive attitude, eat healthy, be active and do things in my life that are on my bucket list. Here's to a better me!
