  4. I upgraded my seat too, have a "sundowner" seat, nice and big. My present to myself is to buy a Fatboy Lo when I reach goal weight. maybe I won't need to "upgrade" the seat! You've lost a lot! Any secrets? Have you had a fill yet? Yeah, we live in AZ so pretty much can ride all year long.

  7. @Maddysgram, I was banded Oct 18, we're almost on the same track! My husband and I had never ridden until I started this weight loss journey. Most of my calories (and time) were spent drinking beer and eating pizza! I was pretty much a sloth. So, my husband thought of a hobby that we both could do that didn't include drinking. We took Bike Class this past summer, and bought 2 cheap Sportsters to learn how to ride on. It has worked! Can't drink while riding, and we rode a lot! Got me ready for my surgery Just able to get back on it yesterday-boy, I felt skinny! haha

  16. Hey, there's bikers on here!! yay! I just got banded 3 weeks ago, and want to get back on my Harley...when did you all resume riding again? I was told 6 weeks, but really??
  17. I felt the exact same way...everything hurt, wasn't sure if anything flipped or slipped, cried daily cuz I thought I really made the wrong decision. I logged on here almost every hour looking up things, reading posts...waiting to feel better. Went back to work after a week, ended up in ER cuz I was dehydrated. I was a mess. Now I can tell you 3 weeks out is sooo much better!!! I returned back to work, I walk a mile a day, I'm eating mushies. Although I can still feel my port, that's my only issue right now. So, I'll tell you what everyone told me-Hang in there!! Drink, walk drink, walk and sleep. And don't force yourself to go back to work if you think it's too soon. I kind of felt like a whimp cuz I didn't get going "as quickly" as others did, kept comparing myself to others and it messed me up.

  19. Does anyone know how big the actual port is? I am 3 weeks out, and still feel the port very much. Feels like it's about 10lbs! I can't roll over in bed without it "moving" with me, and when I wake and stand up in the morning, I feel like "the port" is just waking up too and it pulls on me til I get moving in the am. It;s located right under my left rib cage and every time I shave my legs or tie my shoes it "hits" my rib cage. I went to my Post Op last week and complained about it, thought something was wrong. They sent me for an xray, and said although it looks like he placed the port "higher" than usual, everything looked fine. It's not painful anymore (it was last week) but it just feels "heavy" and sometimes feels like stitches in your side after you've run too many miles. Will this feeling subside?
  20. Oh, good to hear!! I'm been driving myself nuts about what to eat/drink on the plane...instead of looking forward to it I'm "sweatin" it! I think once I get there I'll be cool..I can go to Walmart and get my staples..and only eat soup/fish when we go out to eat.
  21. I was told go back on liquids 24h after also, then mushies...I'd be afraid to eat also!
  22. I'm flying too.., banded 10/18 and have a 6 hour flight coming up. (vacation in hawaii) so, besides the fact that I am trying to figure out what to eat while I'm there, I still am a little nervous to fly. Can't drink, which I usually ALWAYS do while flying!

  25. Thank goodness for your post! I feel like a whimp because I've called my Dr. twice, about 2 different things (shortness of breath=resolved, and if I was getting enough liquids in:, I wasn't.,.guzzling more) never had pain until last night! 10 days out it feels as if my port is really "heavy" and it pulls, and my side splits like the feeling when I have just walked too far.Been trying not to overdo it, hoping that's all it is? Don't wanna call the Dr again, my post op appt is Friday.

  27. OK, so my Dr. told me to say the "ABC's" after each drink )still in my liquid phase post op) Hard habit but after having a runny nose from too much liquid inhaled, I repeat the abc's and it kinds seems to work.
