  1. Davell i only use my phone and it says I need your email address to add you... Could you msg me it?
  2. Ok I will! I've been slacking with MFP lately lol
  3. Davell good to hear from you! What's your eating plan look like at this far out? Just curious as some days it seems like I eat too much lol
  4. Body bug, fit bit one and flex, polar, garmin, Nike.. Geez I can't keep them all straight!
  5. If you search hunger pains in that forum all kinds of things come up. I think overall most have reduced hunger, some have more, some less. Steve said it exactly above. I guess what bothers me about it is... The people that give me the hardest time ( on a couple occasions), obviously have the SLEEVE, not the plication. So is it fair to say that maybe I've done more research then them on MY choice of wls? Or that's not even what bothers me the most. It's when they make false statements about the plication out of ignorance to scare someone out of looking into it. There isint as much research out there I spose, of the plication than the sleeve. But there are risks of the sleeve too. And it was new once too right? Can you imagine if in the beginning of the sleeve everyone was like "oh don't do it you will get a leak", and everybody listened? No one got the sleeve? Ugh I know I'm rambling I'm just frustrated... The thread was something like sleeve or plication... Scared. Anyway I'm over it I'm just gonna stay off there for awhile. I am just thankful there is something available for someone like me with a low bmi besides the lapband, even if it is newer.
  6. My mushies were egg salad and anything I could purée lol... Sorry no fancy recipes, I'm not much of a cook!
  7. Pff thanks Eric, im a little lazy today I suppose lol I could have googled it too;) didn't occur to me at that moment;)
  8. Yes I've seen that video otr along with many others that are similar. To say the procedure is brand new in the beginning is false which sets the bar IMO. That being said it is new in North America and is not FDA approved yet. However I would hate for a person to be referred to this one video and make their choice based on that. But that's up to the person doing the research I suppose.
  9. If you guys read my reply at all no where was I dissing sleeve patients, rather those that do not have the plication and think they know everything about it. So unless you are a surgeon who has experience in performing the surgery your info is at best a guess or here say. Also I never said I would want to reverse my plication, but rather keep my whole stomach in case I need it lol. Which is another long personal story that I don't need to go into, it has to do with my medical history. My reply was to the op who asked about both procedures. I explained my opinion about my surgery, why don't you guys spend your time discussing the pros and cons Of your surgery as opposed to dissing other people's procedures
  10. Oh do you have the plication? You Must have got info I missed when discussed this with my surgeon who Performed my plication. Ill tell you what's not reversible is the piece of stomach they throw out when you have the sleeve done.
  11. I have the plication and love it. You ask a question like this and you will get all kinds of responses. There are certainly pros and cons to both. The plication is newer but the sleeve was new at one point too. I would suggest talking To surgeons and looking up Medical research to help you decide. Hearing stories or rumors from people who don't have it or haven't gone through it does an injustice to a procedure that is here to help you get healthier and live a longer life. I could have had the sleeve (same price) but chose the plication for personal reasons. The sleeve has worked for many and I have met some fantastic friends on here that are successful with it. But... My mother had it done just over a year ago and almost died. This last year for her has been unreal and she is still not working. Anyway I've come across way more success stories about the sleeve than not, but my moms experience hit too close to home. Was I scared of choosing a newer procedure? Hell yes, but for me after my research and personal experience it was the right choice for me. I am low bmi sw 203 5'7, dec 3/12 and am down to 165 now. I am grateful for this wonderful tool. Do I feel hungry sometimes? Yes but not like I used to. And the amount I eat to feel full Or satisfied has decreased immensely. It's like a miracle lol. No complications, I feel great. If you are worried about the ghrenalin horomone search it here and you will find that all sleevers have different experiences with feeling hungry. Some not at all, some all the time. You never know, that horomone might come in handy one day lol. Is it reversible? My surgeon says yes, but why would I want to reverse it lol? I just thought If something ever happens I could revise to a sleeve as opposed to rny. And that portion of my stomach that I kept might come in handy one day. You never know what we might need out organs for lol. Anyway I just wanted you to hear from someone that has it and is grateful for it. The plication board is a little slow but there are tons On the lb site and a few on here that have it but don't voice it for fear of bashing it;) good luck with your decision! I'm sure you will be successful either way!
  12. Only my husband and mother know. I've seen too many negative reactions, be it jealousy or whatever, .. And I'm just not mentally where I should be To deal with the gossip etc. I was itching To tell some people that are closer to me pre op but I knew in my heart I wouldn't get the support I was hoping for, so I kept it to myself... Four mos post op and I'm so happy I kept it to myself. My mantra was " you can't unring a bell". Good luck;)
  13. Yes I do. I had it done dec 3/12:) I chose plication for personal reasons and there's some days I wonder if I had the sleeve would i loose quicker? But I am low bmi sw 203 and I'm 5'7 and I am at 165 now. Not too shabby;) whenever I get frustrated at slow loss I remember I am grateful to have this tool as I haven't been this weight for years and know I would not be here if it wasn't for that! Do you have plication?
  14. Well Good for us! Here's to team Plication;)
