I suffer from chronic dry mouth and lips .I have been to my gp and my dentist and have researched on the internet. There are products you can try like biotene who offer a mouthwash, gum, toothpaste, a gel you can put on your tongue and a mist you can spray in your mouth. You can chew gum or even get mints from the vitamin shoppe where the fist ingredient is xylitol. This is a sweetner that helps saliva flow. I chew ice cubes gum by icebreakers or you can get some from vitamin shoppe or even amazon. I have tried script mouthwashes several and the best thing that works is swishing your mouth with mylanta. I use the cherry generic from cvs and you can use as needed. It coats your tongue and brings relief for short periods. This not always caused by dehydration. It can be meds that you were on that are reacting to your lesser calories. I drink tons of water a day and it doesnt help at all. Right now my tongue feels like the top was stripped off . Also if you are a smoker that should be the first thing you change. Smoking will only make it worse. sorry you are all having trouble I hope this information helps you.
