So i'm getting rebanded since my band has leaked or become disconnected several times over the past 8 years. My surgeon thinks that the port placement (on the right under my ribs) was putting strain on the band and causing it to crack, leak, and become disconnected.

Has anyone else heard of this or experienced this? Did you get your band replaced or removed?

I'm wondering why surgeons pick which side to put the port on? My surgeon always puts it on the left. Now you have made me curious! Sorry, I haven't heard of anyone in our local support group having this problem. I'm really sorry you've had so many problems, hopefully your next fix is the answer! Good luck!

Mine is on left side under ribs and for some reason it has tilted. Makes it a b***h getting the needle in it.
